Most other languages of the world attribute gender to everything.
In French you have in place of "the", "le" for masculine and "la" for
feminine; in Spanish, "el" for masculine and "la" for feminine; and so
forth. What's wrong with English? Plenty! Like "positive" and
"negative", etc.; implicit : explicit :: inply : exply? English has
osmotic pressure.
I love my things, so that when I slip and turn the air blue, I
affirm to myself, "I'm not yelling at my things, I'm yelling at the evil
spirits that have assumed their identity.
I just noticed back here proof reading, why should I put
"masculine" first, and "feminine" second? This is a stain of Plato's
filthy dichotomy. White, black; masculine, feminine; up, down; high,
low; good, evil; and, Jachin, Boaz.
