It came to me this morning.

Oops.
I think Custer died at the little Big Horn as Colonel.
He might not have been a General.
He was a Colonel during the Civil war.
West Point Grad, of course.

Yeah he attacked a "village, or a Camp of Indians and the plan was to
charge through the village/Indian camp and regroup on the other side.

Thing was, he didn't realize how large the Indian Camp was. I don't
think they reached the other side and those that survived made a stand
on a hill.
Families.
The indians traveled with their Families so.....

Not the Apache however, not when going on raids, or wr.
