| | | Generic Risperdal I just got some and realized I had gotten it before, called Risperidone. I remember some people on here looking forward to when Risperdal becomes generic... well apparently it's here already. Did I
miss something? My insurance, Medicaid, automatically substituted the
generic I suppose. Like I said, I also think this is not the first
time I got it either. |

Interesting.. Risperidone causes mania and lactation I would not take that shit
even if they paid me to. |

A word got changed in the message when you quoted it. I originally
said, "when Risperdal becomes generic" not "when Risperidone becomes
generic". How did that happen? |

It causes lactation if it increases your prolactin levels to dangerous
amounts. Most of the anti-psychotics do that if they affect prolactin
levels. |

It was still like $375 before tax, for 4mg, 30 days. I don't know how
much the brand-name is, I never looked so far. I've never had to pay
for more than 10 or so out of pocket, thank god. |

I read about Risperidone going off patent, but the last time I asked
at a drugstore they didn't know anything about a generic. Right now,
I'm getting 3-month prescriptions, so if it happened in the last three
months I wouldn't know.

Not usually. I think elevated prolactin levels are common, though. |

Yes it elevates prolactin and breast cancer feeds on prolactin! |

The FDA gave a particular company exclusive rights to generic distribution
for 180 days. After that, we should see a true market value.
In my case, my HMO has a schedule with certain prices for name-brand (to me)
and certain prices for generic (to me) that have nothing to do with the
HMO's cost. Thus, even an expensive generic will save me a lot of money. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
