Default Generic Zyprexa?

What the hell? This is evidently old news, but I looked at a BC
website and they are selling 100 pills of the generic for 1/2 the
price of Lilly's.
I thought generics were REALLY cheap. I can get 30 pills of haldol
for around $10. They want like $300 for 30 of the generic zyprexa.
Canadian rip off artists if you ask me.
What schizophrenic can afford $300 a month for meds? They might as
well keep the Lilly price and piss off.

I checked the Canadian pharmacy I use and the generic zyprexa prices were
very high too. My generic Canadian Risperdal is relatively inexpensive from
the same (above) folks.

I did a websearch and found some possibilities. Obviously, these web offers
may be bogus, or counterfeit meds.

frugalmed.com has 10mg 90 tablets for $99

www.emedoutlet.com 10mg 90 tabs $77.99

http://low-cost-medications.com/Zyprexa.html
90 tabs 5mg $26
360 tabs 5mg $97

I would be a bit standoffish to buying antipsychotics from overseas
(or even over the border).
This generic "War" shows just how we Americans end up paying for
development of drugs. WTF?

In addition to patent protection, I think there are laws protecting the drug
companies from a large buyer, like Medicare trying to negotiate a better
price on a patented drug. These restrictions do not apply outside the US,
even if a foreign country is honoring the US patent.

If true, there is room for adjusting the laws to make drugs more affordable,
without violating the drug company's patent rights. The lobby for the drug
companies may be the largest lobby in congress. At least, that is what I
heard.

I hope we get someone in power next year that has the balls (or
vagina) to give the finger to the pharmecitical companies and do
what's fair.
My medicaid is up for scrutiny in Dec.

My SSDI is supposed to get re-evaluated every 3 years, with full paperwork
from a p-doc. However, it has been about 6 years since they did the
review.

I don't qualify for the Medicaid program in California (Medi-Cal). Ten
years ago, when I did qualify, it was hard to find doctors who would accept
it.

Scheezers have no political voice.

We need to ride the coattails of all the other kinds of disabled folk.

I had a good doc when I first was diagnosed - with good insurance. It
took me 7 years or so to find a good doc that takes medicaid. Most
primary care docs don't take medicaid. There are plenty of clinics in
my area, but it's a 1-2 hour wait to see a doc. I did find a pcdoc
that does accept medicaid, but he's not very good. I would prefer to
see a good doc with a long wait than a bad doc. Perhaps I'll start a
new saying - "You get what you wait for".
