Default Generic Zyprexa

Does anyone know if Lilly will allow generic zyprexa soon? I live in
the USA and the monthly cost to my medicare D is around 550 bucks for
30 days. I'm now in the dreadful 'donut hole'...I rely on samples now
from my pdoc. This cost is absurd!

FYI: Risperdal, as risperidone, is now available in the US. Risperidone
was the first of the atypical neuroleptics. It is in the same class as your
med, but has different characteristics. Risperidone does not have the
powerful anti-anxiety effect that your current med has.

You may wish to investigate your qualifications for Medicaid, which might
help pay for your meds.

This article says it's going generic in 2011, but I've found lots of
links that say you can save 1/2 the price by buying from Canada.
2011 is a long time, eh? Lilly will be mighty rich by then.
