| | | good morning I need more coffee.
The thing is, I have been taking higher and higher doses of coffee for the
same effect. A few years ago 3 grams of coffee was enough to cause me to
space out, and get nothing done. 3 grams was too much. Now, I take 7 grams
and it seems I need more. I see no signs of being overstimulated. I
suppose all I need to do is take 10 grams and see what happens, but the
large dosage is scary.
I suppose the fact I need more and more is scary too. At some point I'll
either have to quit coffee for several months, or the large dosage will
cause trouble.
Life feels so much better with the coffee. I get some things done, and my
mood comes way up. On the down side, I suspect coffee causes me to look
strange. Sometimes I have had photos taken of me where the look in my eyes
is strange. I think the coffee causes that.
I think I'll have some coffee and go shopping.
Thanks for listening. |

Something like that, but just in the eyes.
There are so may ways I do a great job of faking being normal, but my eyes
give me away.
I mentioned this before, but with a new p-doc, I sometimes up my meds and
really try to seem *normal*. They never question my being Sz, and usually
quickly mention that my med dosage is low, like they want it higher.
You drink coffee? |

Maybe the coffee companies are making coffee weaker.
I like coffee but hardly ever drink it because it makes me too
agitated.. If I have too much caffeine I pace back and forth in my
apartment like a wild woman for hours. LOL! It seems to interact with
the geodon for some reason.
I had a mocha frappuccino at Starbucks, today. I've calmed down finally.

I have an idea that you are putting all this in one coffee cup and
drinking it.
How many teaspoons of (instant right?) coffee do you put in a cup? |

i think he meant 10g of caffeine. you can have up to 2 or 3 grams at a
time, and you should live. don't quote me!

A tablespoon is about 4 grams.
The 7 grams was single dose in about 28 ounces of water. Total per day is
about 30 grams of coffee crystals.
The amount of coffee crystals in a restaurant coffee packet is about 1.4
grams. I assume they figure that is a cup of coffee.
So, I'm getting addicted to coffee.
I know from the past that without meds this much coffee would have me in
serious positive symptoms.

QN - i drink two cups of STRONGER than strong coffee, the kind that
sprouts new hairs on your chest. I take a considerable amount of seroquel to sleep and the hangover is almost identical to a booze
hangover and i've had too many of those. brutally strong coffee helps
burn the seroquel hangover off pretty fast. However, i won't drink
any caffeine, even coke, past noon cuz that'll screw me up the
following night.

| | | Re: good morning Man that is alot of coffee. I'm less tired on zyprexa, but drink
about the same amount of coffee. Over 2 cups (24oz) and I'm wigging
out. I can however drink more if there is 6 hours in between.
There will be new meds out soon...new ones that don't make you sleepy
or overweight. |

I just started coffee again. Had to stop it for a while because it was
making me weird there for a while but now it's like medicine these
days again.
Made the mistake of giving my old coffee maker to my manager at work
when I thought the coffee was too bad for me and couldn't handle it.
Big mistake. Got desperate to have some again and so broke, had to
break down and go buy a coffee maker again. Duh. Try to do something
nice, she was broke and a coffee addict, thought it wouldn't hurt
becuase I wasn't using it, really regretted giving it away. |

You're a nice person, Gelly. Don't give your next one away! Repeat
after me three times or as many that floats your boat - "I will keep
my medicine-maker because I deserve it more than anyone else." |

With coffee crystals you just need water. I haven't used my coffee maker in
years.
Coffee may taste better done fresh, but it isn't worth the effort to me.
Also, I regard the coffee as a drug or med. As crystals it can be measured
exactly. When you perk up some coffee, you can only make a broad estimate
of the dosage. |

I very much regard coffee as a drug or medication, and not only because of
caffeine in it. I'm addicted to coffee and need some every day to avoid a
feeling of tightness in the throat, but decaf works just as well for me in
this regard as regular coffee. In fact, with decaf my sleeping patterns are
regular while non-decaf coffee tends to screw up my sleep if I drink it in
sufficient quantities.
But I hugely disagree with QN that crap Sanka crystals are just as good as
real coffee. Coffee is one of those items where you don't really save money
when you buy the cheap stuff because you get exactly what you pay for. Even
if a 1-pound package of cheap coffee is $1.49 and a pound of good Starbucks
coffee ground to your taste is about $20, it's the latter that creates a
genuine coffee drinking experience. If I can't afford it all the time I just
buy smaller quantities and drink coffee less often, and I find that I don't
*need* to drink as much of the expensive coffee as of the cheap s***.
