Default Hypersensitivity to External Stimuli

Hi,

While I've never been diagnosed with schizophrenia, my biological
grandmother spent her life in a mental institution with catatonia
resulting from schizophrenia. I am a disabled rapid-cycling bipolar who
has at times suffered from delusional thinking.

What I am seeking is information from anyone regarding hypersensitivity
to external stimuli. How does it affect you? How can a caring friend
get through to you? From what I've experienced, friends with
hypersensitivity seem to block me out of their life while they're going
through psychosis, probably because I somehow aggravate their
hypersensitivity by words I say, unintentionally of course.

My goal is to better understand a good friend with this illness and to
somehow get through to him that I want to help him, without his being
paranoid about me.

Any ideas? Any helpful information? Information from sufferers of
hypersensitivity would be great, although information from anyone with
knowledge of this is nice, too, even just comments regarding this.

Thanks.

Whilst always having an acute susceptibility to sensitivity the onset of sz
put this disposition on stilts. The world became, and still is, an
agonizing place.

The only remedy that I find helps is complete peace and quiet a condition
that, given limited resources. I find difficult to achieve.

Hey Freyja, hey Zerosky,

yip yip I have this hypersensitivity thing. Don't like flourescent
bulbs like in supermarkets and most office buildings, wear earplugs
alot of the time especially when on the street, where the sound of
cars and machines bugs me...

The key is to listen and don't say much. Don't be stressed out or
exhibit any fear. Relax.

Thats about all I can think of now. Hope it helps...

I don;t even know my diagnose. Psych diagnosed me as psychosis.
When I asked why I'm not diagnosed with schiz she say because
illness does not influence my life. eg I have control of my life
work normally etc
But I am treated like I have schiz with antipsychotics last 8 years.

Normally I don;t have hypersensitivity problem except
under antipsychotics especially fluphenazine (prolixin).

What I can tell, when under prolixin I am hypersensitive to
showing emotions of other people even on tv.
When someone shows negative emotions it strikes me like
a large pain in the chest. I can;t sit or stand doesn;t feel
good in any position. Sometimes I lay on a bed and tumble
in pain.
That's why I'm refusing to take any antipsychotic except
risperidone which only disables me sexually, but I don't
feel any other effect.

Default Re: Amplification Causes Hypersensitivity to External Stimuli

Hypersensitivity is caused by amplification mechanisms just as it
is caused in electronics. Neurons are essentially capacitors,
that is, they retain an elecrical charge. The magnetic line of force, a
circuit of the one sustance, E=Mc˛, in the one substance, E=Mc˛,
that is our entityship, that which we call "I", has consciousness
imposed upon it by the capacitance and ectropy of the neurons in the
medulla oblongata.
This is shown by the facts that one lesion in the medulla and
there is never any more consciousness in that body again; and, solvents
like ethanol (booze), and acetone, etc., reduce consciousness by
increasing neuron wall permeabilbity, lessening that holding ability of
the neurons.
But, part of the "ectropy", the opposite of entropy, is the work
done by evolved mechanisms to restore the charge holding ability of the
neurons, and, like governmental responses to breaches, that is usually
overdone, thus you have your withdrawal symptoms.
But, there is a point of no return called "infinite" neuron wall
permeability, that is, when the neuron is completely disolved. This
happen in death. "Triasca moartea!"
