Default In the Life: a true story

My "Christmas Cactus" is blooming.
Its not really a cactus.
Its more of a succulent.
And its' red buds are on the brink of opening...either today or
tomorrow.
There's that.

My morning Glories, planted as window plants are doing finely.
Blooming.
Blueish purple blooms.

The weather forcast says we won't be above freezing today.
Its easily believable having gone outside dressed like an eskmo to
squezze in a
cigarette.

Its not just any ol' cigarette, its a rejuevenated tobbacco hand rolled
cigerette.
I merged a few partially filled cans of tobacco and spritzed water on
em.
Shook it up and set it on the rediator.
Now its all moistened and doesn't burn my throat when I smoke.
Rejuevenated tobacco.

So I'm in the kitchen scratching my stomach and looking at dishes
waiting in the sink and...
Guess what happened!!?!?!
A Butterfly fluttered by.

Its a yellw DogFace butterfly fluttering by.
Just like a white cabbage butterfly but its yellow.

Now you tell me, WHERD IT COME FROM!!!

So I captured it in a jar and relocated it to the front room where I
have a southern exposure (exposser) full sun bay window.

It flew around a little and is now resting amongst my blooming window
flowers.

Snow is due at any moment.
Its below freezing and snow is expected very shortly.
I have flowers and some weeds I grew from seeds I brought in from the
yard during the summer...late fall really.
Its microcosmic.

I have plants from summer, blooming flowers, and a butterfly.
The snow will be flying shortly.

That's amazing Damo! I think I'll try that next year if I'm still
around. Growing summer flowers in winter that is. I don't have a bay
window but do have three big windows the width of the living room facing
south, lots of light not to mention solar heat. Probably too late this
year. I won't count on a butterfly though. Although one can always hope.

Not that I'm around here much anyway, but for a while I've been unable
to post at all due to some weird glitch, which seems to have corrected
itself. So I thought I'd drop in to say "hello." I hope you're well.

Morning glories need a warm soil to sprout.
Maybe 72 degrees. So on a window sill in december they might not sprout.
But if you water with luke warm water and keep the soil in sun during
the day it should work.
They LOVE bright sun, the more the better.

I thumb tacked a piece of wire fencing across the window, attached to
the woodwork on either side.
The vines hug the fencing.

The butterly has stopped fluttering by.
He may have died.
I sprinkled some sugar on the sill.
Maybe he can eat suger.
The soil was damp so he had water.
He's been real still but when the afternoon sun streams in the windows
he might flutter by.

Hi TigerLily.

Butterflies do have short lives.

The growth of a plant is a reminder of how fast life is streaming by.

Not the window sill, it's too narrow anyway. I have a long table there
with plants on it.

The butterfly hasn't move in days.
Might just be real depressed.
but I fear it may be worse then that.
Perchance his butterfly soul has transmigrated to his next
reincarnation.
I'm keeping an eye on him but I suspect the worse.
