I like all the extra features it has. Too bad I don't function well in
a chat room. Too bad they don't have voice/video chat. I do fine with
that.

I am too paranoid to go to Our Beautiful Minds because you have to
register or sign in. Paranoid people can't do that.

After registering and confirming by clicking on their email, you need to go
to the email section to re-option the default -so other members cannot get
your email address. Otherwise, it looks safe enough.

It seems a better atmosphere than USENET, so far.

You don't (or atleast I didn't) give real last and first name. Other
than than, it's about the same as usenet. One thing I don't care for
is having to sign in from time to time. I'm paranoid about saying
something that will get me kicked out. I hope they give warnings,
cause I express myself in colorful ways sometimes.

I leave the fly killing to my wife. She's got it out for bugs that
fly. I'm more of a spider/cocroach/silverfish killer out of necessity.
Can't just let those things run wild. They might open a business or
something.

Hi Luke,

I just thought I'd see what's happening here and saw this. Just to
clarify, OBM isn't a newsgroup, we do have rules. But if you read them
closely you'll see that most of them are pro-freedom of speech, not the
opposite.

It would be very hard to get kicked out. And yes, we do give warnings.
The only exception would be spammers. There is a rule against
obscenity, but that's not OBM's rule, it's a rule of our host
InvisionFree, and could cost us the site, so we have to enforce it. But
it wouldn't get you kicked out, the post would be edited and you would
be told why. InvisionFree has other rules too, such as not posting
copywrited material, so we post links instead. The one thing we won't
put up with is personal attacks on other members, but even that wouldn't
get you kicked out unless it was habitual.

So far we haven't kicked anyone out, and I hope we never have to. Oops,
I lied, not long ago we did kick out one spammer.

Hope that eases your mind a bit.

Lily

Hi Penguin,

We have lots of paranoid members. It is a sz site after all. But
seriously, a very few members do use their real name, but most don't,
and we don't ask for any personal information at all. Just so you know
that.

Good deal TigerLily. I understand most sites do have moderators, but I
wasn't sure how things could be seen.
