marijuana use for depression

Any one else here smoke mary jane to relieve depression?

When my depression kicks in I get suicidal, this lasts for days to
weeks. I'm living with my parents at the moment and they don't like
marijuana because its illegal. I got caught smoking the other week and
my dad flushed my stash down the toilet. They are moderately
brainwashed, like most norms.

There is no way I can go without smoking mj. To me she is the antidote
to this pile of shit society. So, I guess I'll have to do it on the
sly, at the beach, or around the back of my A.A meetings... My
suicidal ideation is back with a vengence, and nothing is helping me
get out of this hell, not even the vodka I've got stashed upstairs.
(I'm not supposed to be drinking, but without mj, thats what I have to
resort to).

It's hypocritical damn it.

Society says, don't take your drugs, take our drugs.

I'm at the end of the rope again.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll be happier with a
little help from Mary. And, I hope all of you's out there are all
right too.

I found a few crumbs in a jar full of ash.

Depression is gone.

Smoked out of hell.

Now I can do regular stuff. Go for a run. Exercise. Clean the kitchen.
How are the rest of you doing. I should talk to more people here, but
I'm usually stewing in my own shit. Hope you are all right.

I think with the experience of my girlfriend that
mary jane and alcohol temporarily relieve the symptoms
of depression but you get it back worse afterwards.
A number of people who are depressed here gave
me the same insight.

For what it's worth, I have read some recent research that suggests that
marijuana can act as an antidepressant at some level, but causes depression
at higher levels.

The problem with those A.A. groups is they want you to define yourself
as an 'addict' so you're pretty much screwed to the extent you buy
into that.

In a moment of aberrant judgment by me and undue social pressure from a
woman that I was on a date with, I tried marijuana once, years ago. I found
that I was unable to compose a sentence. It seemed, for me, Sz and
marijuana were not a good mix. Coincidentally, I was depressed about
something at the time. I recall no change in the depression. If fact, I
became angry at myself for failing to have the balls to refuse the stuff
when offered.

On another occasion, I was in a movie theater where there were many people
smoking marijuana. This was on the Stanford campus. I was upset with my
date for bringing her little brother on the date, but I was a gentleman
about it until I was under the influence of the second hand smoke.
Regrettably, I became upset and told her exactly what I thought about having
a "chaperone" along with us. I would never be so rude. So, in a second
example, marijuana was the wrong stuff for me.
