Default "Medicines for Mental Health" at Amazon now

Over three years in the making, and it's finally out! So if you've been
wanting a physical copy, instead of a PDF, you can now get it through
Amazon. I'm intending to keep the PDF on my Web site for free download (I
need to update it; it's not current with the printed copy yet), but if
you've been wanting a trade-paperback version with a nice cover, you can
finally get one.

By the way, the astute observer may realize that the URL for my Web site has
changed recently, too. I've gotten my own domain, and will be closing down
the old Geocities site at some point.

Congratz for publishing a book.

$18.99 sounds a bit steep.

The one customer review sounds like a shill.

Using Nom dePlume, Phd. as a penname is cute, but it makes me think you are
hiding something.

How hard is it to get a self published book on Amazon? Is that what is
happening?

There was a scheezer on here that said he was writing a book. Is that you?

Great that you have your book published.
I see it got an ISBN number now and also that it is
for sail on amazon.com so that people abroad
can also get it.

Nom is a faker out to make a buck. Anyone can research the meds on
the net and come to the same conclusion he has come to, with the
footnote added.... YOU TOO ARE PROGRAMMED TO OBEY!

Congrats on the book. The thing about doing a book on meds is that it
will be outdated eventually. Next book you write, make it fiction/non-
fiction.

Thank you, Berty. I hadn't thought much about sales from abroad. It would be
interesting to know if someone buys it outside the US.

No shill. It was unsolicited, and a pleasant surprise.

As a general rule, people with pen names are hiding something--their real
names. I long ago decided to keep my online persona, and public interest in
medication, separate from my personal life. This was partly an issue of
privacy, and partly out of concern that some of the more unpleasant denizens
of the net might attempt to harrass me or my family in real life. Perhaps
the caution is unnecessary, but I'd rather not find out the hard way.

The world of publishing has changed greatly in the last decade. The barriers
to publishing and distribution have essentially disappeared, and pretty much
anyone who can write without embarrassing himself can get self-publish a
book and distribute it through Amazon.

No, not me.

Very true. I intend to keep my online PDF file up to date, and perhaps put
out a new edition of the printed version every three years or so. Time will
tell if this strategy is actually achievable.

Congratulation for the completion of a monumental task: researching,
writing, and publishing such a good book. You have a right to
feel very satisfied. Thanks for all that work.

Hi Non dePlume,

I agree with you that writing a book with a nickname (pseudonym)
is alright.

I want to write a book in Dutch one-day, but I still have
to study Spanish for a few years and in the meantime work
on my Dutch language skills. I will also use a pseudonym.

Berty
