I don't think people should limit themselves to one or another: Both
the thinking, 'meditation', and the psychiatric medication can be
needed for people with schizophrenia, who are trying to get over a
psychotic period.
When getting better, hopefully one can avoid the medication. But the
psychiatrists do have some effective drugs, which can help people in
their process of recovery.
For example, I've now got over my psycotic period, and soon I will not
have to take any medicine anymore. But for a short period the medicine
helped me, and that's how it usually is. -And how it should be.
Psychiatric medicine can be 'zombifying' people, I know that. But the
psyc (psychiatrist or psychologist) does NOT intend to destroy people.
When the worst psycotic period is over, we change gradually to
talking, thinking and 'meditation'. -And at last drugs can be
completely avoided.
That's how it should be, and that's how it was for me.
The 'MEDItAcION' Principle: both 'meditation' and medication. -It
worked for me!
(I don't know if the readers like my 'typoes', but I just thought that
it was funny that the two words medication and meditation looked so
much like each other. -It's easy to remember.)
