Got some leftover drugs -- the kind that someone else might want to
use, such as painkillers or stimulants? Wrap them up in used kitty
litter or other pet droppings, the U.S. government advises.

But, most people just flush 'em down the toilet.

I used to have a shopping bag of old pills. I sorted through them and threw
most of them into the ordinary garbage can.

These days, I use a black marker to block out my name and the drug names on
empty pill bottles before throwing them out.

My pdoc tells me just to bring in my old pills and give them to him
and his pharmacist at the clinic will dispose of them.
