Default Risperidone and sexual side effects!?

Well I have been drinking Risperidone for about 1,5 month and I must say
this is the best antipsychotic for me so far. I can enjoy my life again and
even see thing from different perspective. I currently take 2 mg a day.
There are few side effects that are unpleasant though. I won't talk about
first one because I think I am getting pretty boring with it(P.S. it's about
reducing my cognitive abilities) but never mind that. The other side effect
is that it seems it is very hard for me to get an orgasm. It's true. I read
that Risperidone can cause inability to enjoy orgasm but I never thought it
would hit me. I simply can't ejaculate. No matter how hard I try and when I
finally ejaculate it simply doesn't feel good. That if highly unpleasant for
me because that somehow fulfilled my life in the past. Is there something I
can do to make this problem a bit better? Or will I simply have to find
another thing in my life that makes me happy? Does anybody else have
problems with this?

I had issues with reduced sensation and low semen volume on risperidone.
Another fellow repoted low semen volume. What you describe, about needing
three days of intermittent stimulation to ejaculate, happened to me on
sertraline but no risperidone.

Doctors won't admit this but risperidone exacerbates dependency problems.
While taking risperidone I developed a severe casino gambling problem. I
also had diabetic symptoms that haven't been an issue since I stopped taking
it. All of these eugenic brain poisons are just so much weakling-eliminating
garbage.

Sexual dysfunction caused by antipsychotics is sometimes treated with
dopamine agonists. Antipsychotics decrease dopamine levels, which increases
prolactin, which can cause sexual dysfunction. Dopamine agonists can reverse
the prolactin increase. However, to some extent, they act in opposition to
the mechanism of antipsychotics, so the trick is to treat the problem
without rolling back the benefits of the antipsychotic.

This is something to discuss with your psychiatrist.

In my case the situation is more complex than that. I have Asperger
Syndrome, which has recently been connected to excess testosterone
production by the testes. I started masturbating at age 4 and attempted
intercourse at age 6, which is fairly standard for an Aspie. Aspies tend to
become sexually aware and active very, very early. But while testosterone is
responsible for sexual desire, it is estrogen that is responsible for sexual
potency and function (which, incidentally, is why women have more sexual
function than men do). Excess testosterone suppresses estrogen, so that, in
some cases, too much testosterone can lead to sexual dysfunction.

The joke is that I won't be able to fuck a woman until I have my balls cut
off.

It's meant to be the mercury in MMR imunisations interacting with
testosterone, if you have high testosterone naturally your aspergers
might well be due to MMR.

I have always thought doctors and pharmaceuticals should be hung from the
nearest lamp post.

I had the same ejaculation problems with respiradone, it's not prolactin
the drug seems to target a nerve that deals with a sphyncter in the penis.

Semen is produced but not released and backs up into the epididimus(sp)
and breaks down there.

I hated it and went MAD ANGRY with the F'ng Docs.

What's MMR immunisation. Remember that I grew up in Yugoslavia and did not
go through the same vaccination regimen as North American kids.

At age 7 I swallowed a coin roughly the size of a quarter. I had forgotten
about it but, about a year ago, my parents showed me a fluoroscopy print
where my whole pelvis is visible. No shielding.

i had fuller orgasms and stronger ejaculations before taking
risperdal. i suspect also that it's giving me jello dick. i counter
this by taking viagra for intercourse.

Ja isto imam neka razmišljanja da mi ovdje na Balkanu baš i nije
najbolje.

mentalnu bolnicu?

I had a psychiatrist tell me literally that they give risperdal to
patients who are oversexed to take down their sex drive.

He really told you that? Maybe that's what I need. I am a bit oversexed
myself. I will see how it goes. I repeat, this is the first antipsychotic
that I really can handle well. I am a better person with Risperidone than
without it.

On 1mg, I don't find it causing problems for me. It definitely reduces
my drive, but to a moderate degree which actually seems like a good
thing. Before I was on drugs, I needed to get off practically every
day, but now I can go a few days to a week.

I am a woman and I have no problems re: balls.

But I do aggree with you on testosterone: I have high levels (but I am
NOT hairy nor do I have low voice LOL :-)))

I actually look and sound very feminine. But I get angry and
aggressive easily and I have little to no sense of danger.

I'm pretty intelligent but I get into arguments (like men do) which is
NOT forgiven in women. I am accused of being arrogant (whereas in fact
I'm just assertive and confident and again, men are allowed to be this
way, in fact encouraged and women are not).

I was born and grew up in Russia and I DID NOT receive any mercury-
ladden innoculation. I came to Britain at 19 and was diagnosed with
Asperger's at 35 after I was already married and had 2 sons (one of
them is also on the Autistic spectrum).

My Father also had Asperger's and he had no vaccinations at all
because he grew up during WW2. Autism is genetic. People who indulge
in anti-mercury propaganda are after making money off suing vaccine
manufacturers. And Autism Speaks makes a lot of money out scaring
people. It's all business, none of them care about the Autistic
people.

Well, at least, I can stand up for myself, being grown-up. You can
say, I have "balls"! :-))

In North American culture strong and assertive women are so commonplace that
they're a cliche and I find them boring. I can understand that, in the
culture of your birth, things are different, and that you've suffered for
being the way you are, but if you moved to Canada or the U.S. you'd be
considered perfectly normal. Here women are the dominant sex, with more
intelligence, better health, more education, better jobs, more money, and
often greater physical strength than men--AS A RULE. As with every rule
there are exceptions. But I've found from observation that strong-willed
women who uninterruptedly push their male significant others around suffer
from a deep lack of fulfilment. That's why approximately 35% of women in
North America are lesbian. The "men" here are weaklings and have been bred
and raised to be that way for about the last 20 years. So, although you'd be
more ordinary and accepted here, I'm not sure you'd be happy.

Sorry, I was raised in Serbia. As you know everyone in the Slav lands can
understand Serbian but we don't understand anyone else's language. So I'm
afraid I wasn't able to figure out what you were saying.

If anyone's interested, I am female and on Risperdal and have noticed
no sexual side effects unless you count zero sex drive. But I am
attributing that to the illness itself and having no one right in
front of me to think about. Since my last psychotic break it has been
pretty much zero, and now I'm dealing with depression... so who knows.
Luckily for me I don't have to worry about performance issues. Sorry
men.
