Default 'Schizophrenia' is the most devestating label

'Schizophrenia' is the most degrading word I can think of
as someone pointed out, it means to people,
'get this garbage out of here, take this garbage somewhere else
because I do not want to see it'
I do not like it
So I avoid using that word when I deal with people here IRL
Unless I really want to scare them off.

I do not think it even applies to me anymore.

All these people on livejournal in their schizophrenia support groups
teenagers, mostly, looking to some doctor's diagnosis
for some kind of sense of identity: I cannot explain this to them.
They are too much into hiding behind and supporting
their illness, and into their medications and
endless therapies and so on. Hiding from life.

I feel like I am pissing into the wind when I offer them
any kind of information that will help them recover.

They are simply not interested in that.

Phin I think you made a very good comment here. I would like to use it in my
book if you would allow me to use it for free? I would make sure you are
quoted and your name is used if you want?

Let me know. I want to quote this comment. My email is accurate to converse
with me about this.

Another thing I would like to mention regarding how degrading
"schizophrenia" is.
The media has done all of this to the word and done much damage to many
people's lives.

Default Re: 'Schizophrenia' is the most devestating label. No...

Being on a sex offenders list is the worst. Remember Ralph Claxton
here, klaxain75@webtv.net ? He helped some guys, who have posted here,
Leo Bouzan and Mickey O'Dan, who had evaded sex offender list
registration. Though Ralph wasn't on any sex offender list, he was
charged with "aiding the evasion" of the sex offender list system. He
fled, the pigs went after him, and he killed himself rather than be
captured alive. In both these cases the sex offences were against
ancient puritanical victimless sex crime laws, and this forced
registration was being imposed "ex post facto", absolutly forbidden by
the Constitution. Furthermore these lists are "bills of attainder" which
are absoutely forbidden by the Constitution. Ralph Claxton was a martyr
for Liberty just as sure as any soldier killed in Iraq is a martyr for
Liberty, fighting the tyranny of religion.
During the Cold War the news media wined, murmured, cried and
bitched about how tyranical the Soviet Union was. It was far more free
than living under religious tyranny like Islam. During Ramadan Moslems
are not allowed to even have a drink of water from before sunrise to
after sunset. Yesterday I just heard they get beaten for mixing their
vegetables. The falacies of Islam have to be "raked over the coals"! The
Koran is scientifically incorrect. They don't even know what a star is.
They think a star is a light held up in the sky by Allah. They don't
know that a star is an another sun. They think it's a lamp. Such
religious crap should be as vulnerable to the facts as crap is to soap.
Relgious tyranny is a big problem in the world today, and we see
it in mpereira's case right here in alt.skiz. It is because of sin?
There usually is much corruption in "theocracy"!

The word schizophrenia is associated with insane crimes
and horrifying scary movies. I always say I had a burn-out
to strangers when they ask why I do not work. In a way
schizophrenia is a blessing (you don't have to work) and
a curse at the same time (it leaves you poor and if you
want to change that you cannot change it because you
are not able to work because of your illness). So it leaves
you bored and broke. You envy other people who can do
all kinds of nice things in their free time because they have
$$$$ to spend.

Thanks I wasn't regretful or nervous about what I posted though. I

Hey Berty,
you could for example travel cheaply to other countrys. Here in germany
there are very cheap bus or flight tickets from 29 euros up.

We've joined the Monster Club. It used to be that any mention of
us brought scornful grins, but, in memory, we were right next to
"criminals". Always we automatically followed right next to "criminals",
in the news, and from there to everywhere, "...criminals and mental
patients", "...criminals and mental patients", always followed together.
Back in the early days of computers, Honeywell was going to teach
members of our "day treatment center" computer technology, but, they
changed their minds and went to the state prison to teach prisoners
instead. So, you see where we followed in popularity there. It is nice
we have joined the Monster Club. Fear is respect.
If you could work for them they would at best call you a "good
nut". Those who wont allow you a death owe you a living. If you are
bored go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/alchemy61/ . I just got a
book, "What Is Your Dangerous Idea". There are not only plenty of
dangerous ideas, dangerous to this culture, in Alchemy 61, there is
dangerous knowledge in Alchemy 61. I don't want them to say, "Well
aren't you a good nut".

I feel sometimes like I am serving a life sentence for a crime I did
not commit.
