Default Shark in the boat

Small one, maybe only a couple feet long.

I was rememering this today.
It either happened this smmer past or the summer before.

We were out in the bay on a seventeen foot inboard/outboard.
My friend caught it and we struggled to get it into the boat. We made
it, it was in the boat, and it got free of the fishing hook.

My lady friend was with us.

Theshark moved like a snake. Rushing everywhere and biting at anything
that moved. It was a panic moment.
We caught the shark, now we have him in the boat.
And he's really pissed off too....

So ladyfriend clmbs up on the front deck and she's goingon callng us
stupid and crazy and incompetent and in the meantime my friend and I are
trying to not get shark bit our feet or legs. I got up on one of the
seats and lifted my feet..

My friend grbbed an oar, we carry it for emergencys, and wiggles it
around and the shark goes slither slither...very fast I should add and
bites the oar.

My fisherman friend keeps wigglig and shakin the oar so it won't let go.
He's there cornered in the back of the boat with this "sea monster"
stuck on the oar and he's shakingthe ar so it believes it has
"something".

The lady friend is sitting up on the bow ranting at how rediculous we
are and crazy and not having any sense.
She's angry and he and I are locked in a life threatening situation with
this agressive shark attacking everything that moves and even somethings
that don't move.

Women.

We had a shark AND a woman in the boat, both coming after us. Woe was
us.

We went crabbing later, maybe a couple weeks later, and left her home
and we used the shark for crab bait.

She's a scaredy cat too so its amazing she went into attack mode the
same time as the shark.

You shoulda seen my pal in a corner in the back of the boat wigglng the
oar and the shark wiggling and chewing on it as it were lost in some
kind of sexual mania.

The skin is NOT slippery at all so that was good for our efforts at
subduing it.
It was DANGEROUS and she's yelling at us for "letting" the chaos happen.
Things were all knocked all over, the place was in extreme disorder with
this shark moving fast as a rattler snake biting everything he could
reach and shaking it.

God help us with the women.

Default Re: Shark in the boat

My lady friend was the boat diver.
She's prone to paranoia.
(like me)
She eats the brain pills.
For her to not realize this danger for what it was!!??
I was literally hot footing it, fell against the front windshield lip
and hurt my back, climbed into the piolets chair, feet first,
PANIC!!!

Wild creature trying to bite us!!!

It was several moments of panic.

Then it turned around, biting and shaking everything it saw from back
packs to bait buckets, and the it went after my pal in the back of the
boat. The stern.

He got up on the stern gunnels and got it to bite the oar.

I never expected that behavior from a boated, or landed, fish. My pal
knew the oar trick from experiance.

Its so funny thinking back over it.

Then we left her home and used the shark pieces for crab bait on our
next bay trip.
We crabbed from the grass flats..mud flats...low islands that submerge a
little when the tide rises.

We got home and she came over and helped us eat the crabs.

It was humorous, really. I never fought a fish in quite that manner
before. Actual battle.

Yeah..somebody could have gotten hurt badly. She's screaming at us while
we wrastle this damn shark down....sheesh...
I was scared to death. But I KNEW we must subdue it or..well...we must
subdue it.

I wish you all could have been there.
It was great.

We picked up a sting ray that trip too.

Then there was the time we beached on a sandbar. And the boat was
listing to one side as we wound up in like a foot deep of water. WAY out
in the bay, held fast by the bottom, a sandbar.

I look over the side and in the water all around us are horseshoe crabs
having sex. HONEST to God. We were surrounded by these prehistoric
creatures big around as a large frying pan with giant boney shells and
they are having a sex orgy and we were stuck there for four hours until
the tides turned.

We ate our sandwiches and drank the chilled soda and spring water and
watched the sex orgy.

I hope some readers know what a horseshoe crab is.
