I dreamed a dream about a wizard who tried and succeeded to digitally
control entire city's population through digital implants.
He used a traitor sheep, who was made digital to the level of
biological functions (such as blood pressure and heartbeat), and
whoever betrayed that sheep also turned digital -- digital implant
materialized in his head, and soon he started to become more and more
digital.
He offered shares of this control over will and basic functions over
people to powerful people for a small price - their soul.
One of the most popular use was mass digital hypnosis during the
election process. Voters simply did not know whom to vote for and they
often rapidly changed their decision due to programming.
The first transition of authorities made this way was actually a road
to hell paved with good intentions. The Wizard made a guardian think
there will be a bllody coup, and the guardian thought there is no harm
in turning everybody partly digital for the sake of peaceful
transition, and then switching back to human interface.
The moment he went to switch back, he realized that he was hacked at
the moment he was moving the population in peaceful transition, and
everybody remained with digital implants.
The WIzard had it all.
