| | | 10 days and counting Had a bit of a breakthough moment this morning which I thougth I'd share.
Woke up at normal time this morning (actually, since I've stopped smoking I
keep waking at 3 or 4am for half an hour or so, but that's a different
story), went downstairs, sorted out breakfast for my little boy, got myself
some toast (I never used to eat in the mornings, I do now). After my little
boy had finsihed his breakfast, I started getting him dressed... then it hit
me, I'd been up for about an hour, and I hadn't once thought about smoking!
Slowly, but surly, and without getting complacent... I'm getting there, and
boy it feels good!
P.S, HappyPolarBear, where are you? Hope everything is okay. |

It starts that way ... then one day before you know it, that one
hour period without thinking about smoking will be a 24 hour period.
Nice.

Hey you guys - Adam & Tim - Yup, that's how it works. The first few
days/weeks all you can think about is a "smoke", but it eventually
gets to have less of a "hold" on you. It's the addiction, the nicotine
screaming. Just don't give it a voice, and you are home free. (Well,
not "home free", cause the nicodemon never shuts up.) But you are
doing great. Just keep on not smoking and eventually you WILL be free.

And it will continue to feel better and better. Those breakthrough
moments are wonderful and will continue to confirm your new lifestyle
is the best!
Has your son told you yet that he's so glad you don't stink
anymore? :-)

Not yet, but he's only three. He did say to me last night "You don't need
cigarettes anymore do you Daddy?" That was quite nice. |
