Default 2 weeks ...

And I still have to remind myself why I bothered to quit. No
coughing in the morning, no more holes burned in my shirts and chair.
Health benefits. One thing that kind of surprised me is I also quit the
excessive salt habit, in fact there is no salt added to any of my food
now. That kind of surprised me, I hadn't intended to quit the salt but
I decided if I didn't smoke I might as well not salt? Maybe the food
just tastes better since not smoking? Whatever, I'm out of salt and
I'm not buying any more. But I'm eating plenty of food right now, (to
much) I'm going to have to address that pretty soon. Gaining weight,
which was expected. I'll start on a diet soon, and get more exercise,
but for right now it's no smoking and evidently no salt.
Thanks for being here,
Moe

Woo Hoo Moe! 2 weeks is great and it just gets better. That you
don't need salt as much is not surprising as smokers tend to over
season food as their taste buds are dead or in the toilet. Between
the changes in taste and the oral fixation it is easy to gain weight
so as much as you can choose food that is healthy and non-fattening.

Now, do sit back and enjoy as the Original Yodeling Gnomes are heading
your way with Horace the Huffing Hogg to sing songs of smobriety to
help you celebrate this milestone!

Sometimes, the longer we're quit, the MORE we need to remind
ourselves of just why we quit. Painful memories associated with
smoking seem to dissapate over time which can be very dangerous.

Keep on keeping on Moe. Two weeks is great !!!

Moe - 2 weeks is a terrific start on your way to independence. Your
taste buds are starting to reawaken, so food will taste SO good. Be
careful not to overeat (as most of us did), A few pounds is a small
price to pay to not smoke, but if you gain too much it is a real pain
in the ass to lose, especially if you're over 30. You're doing great -
just don't smoke.
Hugs,
Pam

Wowsa!!!!
Thanks everyone for all the support !
I gave my cigarette making rig away today! and all the extra filler
tubes and coupons off for tobacco and more filler tubes. I was hedging
my bets in case I started smoking again. Donated blood today and got
a free t-shirt and food. I don't how many times I donated blood and got
a freet t-shirt only to burn a hole in it from smoking, I must have 10
of those around now with burn holes in them, each time I got a new
shirt I told myself, "I'm going to be careful and not burn a hole in
this one", and dammit if the next day I wasn't smelling my shirt
burning, something about a new t-shirt and my cigarettes didn't get
along. Anyway this t-shirt isn't going to get a hole burned in it.
