| | | 6 Y Tonight! Hi all,
Exactly 6 years ago, I snuffed out my last shit stick, slapped on a
patch, and never looked back. Well, at least not too much!
I have no words of wisdom for anyone here tonight. If you are reading
this then you are already on the path, and all you need to do is just
stay there. That's right... just stay there. Quitting smoking is
simple, just don't put a cig in your mouth, light it, and inhale. Just
don't do it. Now, if you want to discuss methods of staying quit, well
then it gets a bit more confusing! It has been said here, though, that
stapling a chicken to your forehead is an effective quit aid if it keeps
you from smoking. And that's about as much wisdom as I can muster.
Thank you to AS3. Without you guys, I cannot begin to fathom whether or
not I would have succeeded. For all I know, this would have been just
another failed quit. Instead, with your help, it has become The One.
Each one of us has that One True Quit in us, it just needs to be
discovered. Ain't no reason why this one isn't it!
From me to you, salud. Enjoy the freedom people!

I think as time goes on, the accumulated "clean time" becomes more and
more valuable, especially as the magic 5-0 approaches. I am very
cognizant of the fact that even though I have some real time under my
belt, it is of course possible that I didn't quit in time to avoid later
complications (I smoked for almost 27y). Each clean day is another day
in the bank.

Congratulations a day late! 6 years - incredible!
I quit those damn smokes 3 Years, 11 Months, 4 Weeks, 2 Days, 23 hours, 24
minutes and 23 seconds ago, giving toddler son an additional 4 Months, 4
Weeks, 2 Days, 4 hours and 25 minutes of having a father in this life, by
avoiding the use of 43,829 evil nicotine delivery devices that would have
raped me out of $9,861.58.
