Default To all those people...

That tell you "It's just smoking, what's the big deal, just stop", I say
"GET A CLUE!". For most of us this is one of the hardest things we'll ever
do. So for you quitters be proud of yourselves and don't ever let anyone
diminish your accomplishment, every day you stay smoke free is a victory for
those that choose life over death, freedom over slavery, strength over
weakness, and education over ignorance. Be strong and stay the course.

One of the great benefits of this group is I read first hand how tough it is
for my fellow quitbuddies. I know these people are intelligent,
resourceful, motivated and accomplished in life and yet struggle with this
addiction. The very best have had their ass kicked by this addiction. If I
struggle with it I am in good company. The addiction isn't just some simple
urge that just anybody can ignore and forget in the blink of an eye. It
gnaws away at some even after a long time clean. Even if I feel complacent
at times, this group brings the memory of the struggle to the fore ground of
my thoughts. I agree with you GregB. I am on the team.

You know, it's only the ones who never smoked or "aren't quitting right now"
that diminish quitting. I don't listen to those jerks.

Smokers that really want to quit...or have quit...in the process
of...whatever...they are the ones who get it. Really get it.

AS3 understands what it means, stay close everyone!

Thank you Greg. I know it is the hardest thing I do every day. Harder
than not drinking. Harder than getting up and putting one foot in
front of the other when depression is debilitating. Not smoking is
the hardest thing I do, and I need to be reminded I am choosing life,
freedom, strength and education every single bloody day that I
accomplish not smoking. Best, Stephanie

Bill I couldn't agree with you more. I see in here people with such
strength and wisdom, and it makes me realize how insidious and soul-
clenching this addiction can be if we let it have its way with us. I
am honored to be in the company we keep here. And so grateful.
Best, Stephanie

Hi Marilyn, once in a while we all need a reminder why we started this

Welcome Cat, it just seemed that quite a few fellow quitters were having
trouble and sometimes we get so wrapped up in the details we lose sight of
the bigger picture. I tell you it's the reason I hang out here after so many
years, I never want to forget what that first week was like, and how hard it
was to get to that first week.
