| | | Almost 9 days for me!!! My meter will roll over to 9 days in about an hour.this is the first time I
have gone this long in quite awhile.Mornings first thing continue to be a
bit tricky, but I am sure that will be better eventually.i also tend to get
bored at work and am sitll in the adjustemt phase of not smoking to aleviate
the boredom, and frustration of not making as much moeny as I am used to.
After work,it is a cakewalk to stay smober,no urges at all. All in all, this
quit is going well, and I dont regret it at all.I truly look forward to mamy
more days smokefree a day at a time. i an confidient that eventually I willl
be as comfortable in smobriety as i am in sobriety.I know I dont want to
drink again, and am totally used to coping with whatever life throws my way
without drinking. So it will be with smoking. It is a matter of hanging
tough and never taking another puff.
Ok off to bed I go. I will try and check back and read before work tomorrow.
I find it is a pleasant way to start the day!! to reaffirm my decision to
quit. I feel stronger when I am staying in contact
]with AS3.

Good post Becky. Allen Carr tells us that a belief that smoking will
alleviate boredom is a form of brainwashing. This is good news, if you
honestly believe that smoking is not going to help your boredom the
desire to smoke in those situations is removed. The Easyway approach
does not make boredom any better, it just allows you to remove smoking
from your list of responses. |

Hi Becky!
I've been watching for your post! Just when you think no one is
looking...look at all of us here that are so happy for
you !!!
Another day done...no smoking! Delightfully PUFFLESS as you said!!!
I struggled with the boredom factor at first, but, that worked itself
out as I found other things to fill the void. Now I wonder how I ever
wasted so much time smoking! Keep doing what you're doing. It is
working and you have quit smoking. A wonderful job you're doing.
Keep posting...I'll be watching for you!

Becky, I too, find it a nice start to my day to read the posting here.
I've been following your quit since I got here and I'm really pulling
for you (and me).
It's a real pleasure for me to see my meter pass each record from
previous attempts to quit. I feel that each of those times were
learning experiences leaded up to this, the final quit that will be
with me for the rest of my life. Believe me, I'm not even tempted
anymore. Sure, when I see friends pull out a cigerette and light up,
I wish I could have one, too. But now, I know that I can't and I
don't even consider it.
Keep it up Becky, a lot of people here are pulling for you.

You just keep on sticking with it, Becky! You are doing GREAT!!!!!
Think hard about what triggers you in the morning (is it the coffee, the
routine, etc.) and at work, and see if you can find something else to do
or another way to do it. It really does help!

Great to hear what Allen Carr says Burner Fan, but how abouts you share your
own experience, strength and hope, eh?!
Or maybe you dont have any of your own???
Hmm.
Whatever. We can all buy his book if we want, tired of you shoving it down
our throats.
Many thanks and best wishes. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
