Default Arthritis

I have had some arthritis in different parts of my body for years, I have
just learned to live with it and not allow it to control me. I exercise a
lot (cycling, walking, backpacking etc) and just enjoy life.

Since quitting smoking I have noticed the pain increasing a lot in the
arthritic joints. Surely the two cannot be related! It may just be that I
am walking a lot faster now that I can breathe properly, so perhaps I am
slightly overdoing it.

I see the doctor on Monday for my next Champix prescription, so I will see
what he has to say.

Bill, that does sound odd. That's one of my motivating factors in quitting
smoking - bone problems. Unless, like you suggested, that you're working out
harder??? I'll be very curious to hear what your dr. says.

I have had much more pain in my feet, ankles, knees etc.
I, like you, thought it was overexertion... or Chantix.
The Chantix is long gone, and the activilty has slowed.
I was told my a couple of people that nicotine was an analgesic.
I have not found answers.
If you find any, share them.

Bill, I have had some joint pain for years and control it with
Glucosamine. I did not notice any difference after I got smober so I
can't say if there is a connection or not. However, if you are
pushing it harder now, that could definitely be a factor!

Don't Puff

Mike,,,,, I started kinda looking at that after it was recommended for
my dog.
I've seen ads for "Joint Juice"
Let me know more about your use of it when time permits.

Bill,
Cuckoo Cat posted something once about stopping smoking and calcium
depletion. I have bad Arthritis in my left hip. It got worse when I
quit smoking. I am still glad I quit. Not breathing is far worse.
keep up your quit.
