| | | Bad Dream I haven't smoked ten days and i am having dreams of smoking.
The longest i went without smoking was two weeks. Even then I had bad
dreams. How long will these dream last? |

| | | Re: Bad Dream I'd suggest the dreams will last until you no longer need them. I
always think that if I'm having bad smoking dreams, I must be working
hard to stay smoke free and my subconscious mind is jumping in to help
out with that work.
Ten days without a smoke is a LONG time.
Congratulations.
The dreams will go away and your quit will get better and better...as
long as you don't take a single puff.

I've been quit for near two years and still have an occasional smoking
dream. I have only had a few in the whole time. If you are using NRT
then that may be the cause. I used the patch and, after the first
night, I never wore it to bed again. I'm not too fond of bizarre
dreams.

Everyone is different. I had some really whacko dreams (not BAD ones)
early on when I was using the patch. When I stopped the patch the
whacko dreams stopped, but smoking dreams continued. They become more
and more infrequent. I can't remember the last smoking dream I had.
It would seem that smoking dreams are just a normal part of quitting.
Despite the initial feeling of "Oh crap!" when waking from one they
won't hurt you and are probably beneficial.

Deeno, I still have occasional smoking dreams, but as your quit time
becomes longer, I've found that the dreams aren't as profound and they
just don't bother me as much. Now they just serve as an infrequent
reminder that one huff is all it would take to ruin what I've worked so
hard for. It keeps me on my toes and helps to reaffirm my commitment to
being smoke free.
Hang in there, it does get better!!!!!

I had my first smoking dream this past week, and in my dream I felt
such disappointment and such a sense of utter failure and guilt. It
stayed with me all day. It also renewed my cravings which has lasted
for a few days now. I hate being an addict.
My dreams are seldom about what they appear to be about, though.
So, I guess it is something that will happen from time to time now.

is really, truly awesome. Keep up the good work!
Smoking dreams are normal and nothing to be afraid of or to feel guilty
about. Just don't smoke in real life, and you'll have it made.

Hang in there deeno. I had them alot more at the beginning. Still do
once in a while. The biggest thing was not the smoking dreams, it was
the totally BIZARRE dreams that had scary people in them and wild
stories. I would wake up wondering how my mind came up with that.
Freeky. Since I cut back on Chantix, they have seemed to diminish
though.
Good luck!!!
