Default Beemer Update

I got my Beemer fixed finally. I got the service manager explain to me
exactly what the hell was wrong with it. The bottom line, and in English is
it was not mixing enough air with fuel so the engine was idling very high,
and very sluggish.
It did not cost as much as I thought it would. It was like $800, which is a
lot of money, but it's okay, I just have to not smoke for a couple more
months. And the is the plan.
Thanks to those who where interested.

On another front, I have been feeling about the job. I have been making
more money, and I just bought a...nah, never mind, you all will make fun of
me, so fuggetaboutit

Maximus....I also have the pleasure of driving a "beemer". Yea, you have
to put up with expensive repairs but you know as well as I do that it is
worth it! The ultimate driving machine!

Keep on kickin' butt...."or tomorrow they'll be hell to pay" (SNZ)

Joe "007 - shaken not stirred"

I have kicked butt for 1 Year, 2 Months, 1 Week, 5 Days, 9 hours, 20
minutes and 13 seconds (437 days). I would have spent $2,920.80 but
didn't, by not smoking 13,121 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Month, 2 Weeks,
3 Days, 13 hours and 25 minutes of my life. My quit date1/21/2007 12:47 PM

Never mind English.
Was it the MAF sensor, or a base idle adjustment, or the base idle
servo?.
Where do you live? I want to be your mechanic. :-)

Okay. I bought a 56" Sony Plasma TV, a Sony Blue ray player, a PS3, a
Dennon Receiver and a 7.1 Definitive Technologies Speaker system. I took
today off, to put all that stuff in my house and install it. The PS3 is
amazing. Playing "The Show" baseball game on it, feels like I am sitting in
Wrigley Field. The TV is Absolutely mesmerizing. And the High Definition
Blue ray on it is, well amazing.

I think it looks and sounds better than a movie theatre in my house now.
You are all invited to watch "Good Fellas" with me this week end, on a Blue
ray Disc.

Go ahead and make fun of me now, but don't you dare ask me how much I spent.

Guy buys himself a shiny, new, top-of-the line Beemer.
As he drives it off the lot, a pickup truck hauling ass down the street
slams right into him, spinning and flipping the car several times. The car's
a total wreck. Front door's wrenched loose, and the guy's left arm is
severed. It's lying in the street. The owner's been thrown clear, and is
just kneeling there, staring around at the wreckage, stunned.

"OH, JESUS! MY BEEMER ! MY BEAUTIFUL BEEMER!" he screams.

A bystander runs up.
"Never mind the car, buddy. What about your arm?" he says.
He whips off his belt for a tourniquet, and starts to apply first aid.

The guy looks down, sees his bleeding stump and shrieks:
"AWW, SHIT! NOT MY ROLEX, TOO! "

So I had to ask my partner what a Beemer is, thinking we don't have
them here - which is odd because we have most top-of-the-range cars
here and I gathered it's a top car. He says he thinks it's a BMW. Then
I saw someone else's post confirming that.

The technology sounds a bit frightening, Maximus!! Are you sure you've
not living inside a movie theatre? ;-)

There is nothing like a good sound system to do your heart some good, IME.
However, I have no intentions of replacing all my movies AGAIN with bluray.
Just thinking about it makes me sick to my stomach. Enjoy your HDTV and
keep telling us how wonderful it is so I can live vicariously through you!

With hope and AC/DC coming through my Bose 301's,

Several years ago I was going over the grapevine (a rather steep long
road over a "hill" into Southern California) when my car, as so may do
on that stretch, overheated. I pulled over to a service station and
pulled my car around back to the service bays. There was a BMW way up
on the lift thingy. The license plate was "BMR UP". )

Really!! What a relief!
At Christmas when we went to the big family party we rented a room at the
Hilton because it had HDTV. We were so excited - and the reception was
crappy. Couldn't tell the difference. I sure like looking at the displays
at Sam's club though. I think our reception would be much nicer. That is
probably a few years off for this family.
With hope and heart,
Kathleen

Please tell me you mean you bought a PS3 with/Blue Ray and not that
you bought a PS3 *and* a Blue Ray player. If not, I have a bridge
I'll be willing to part with.

The PS3 has an *excellent* player in it. I just bought one last
weekend. Instead of (and about $100 cheaper than) a Blue Ray player.

Come one, man! Cut me some slack here of course I only bought the PS3
as it is an excellent Blue ray player. I will one day buy a stand alone
player because of the Dolby Digital True HD and DTS HD Master Audio sound,
which none of the studios are producing yet. for now, I am content (and
broke) with that I got.

OK :-) I was just going by what you wrote:

I counted five purchases. Glad you made the right choice. As for the
standalone player, you'll need a reallyreally good sound system to be
able to tell much of a difference over 5.1 or 7.1 Dolby.

Enjoy!

Cheers,
Rob

P.S. Which Denon receiver did you get?

Good for you! I had to leave my Peugeot in Bosnia on Friday afternoon
because the already damaged head gasket finally gave in completely
:-(

I'm waiting to hear how much it will cost; I expect at least $500 :-(

ROFL. The Serbs still make it, even though the US air strike has
damaged the factory:

The English version page is under construction. Surprise surprise!

A female AC/DC fan who also appreciates a good sound system! How cool
is that! I like the Bon Scott era, like Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

Blue Ray can not get more data from the DVD disc than a regular DVD
reader. Which means it adds information by itself. I'm not sure I'd
like that.

Me too. He was something else! Can you imagine seeing him in concert, back
in the day? If I had to pick a favorite it would be "Powerage".
One thing about having a nice sound system - when the punks turn up their
music, it will never bother me. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
