Default Been four days now! A record for me.

It's down to Amitriptyline, it's suppressed my cravings for ciggies
more than Zyban ever did. Zyban cost me R350 for a months supply and
did diddly squat. Amitriptyline is free off of the state and is a
better smoking cessation tool. Of course my main use of it is anti-
depressant and anti-anxiety agent. The smoking thing is just a side
effect I found. You see the real chemical that causes you to stop the
craving is nor-triptyline. Well by taking Amitriptyline a metabolite
of it, is nor-triptyline the stuff that reduces cravings.

Why can't the fucking Doctors and P Doctors tell you this shit. I
wasted four months on Zyban to no joy and a lot of money down the
drain. Only to find a cheap or free 1950's drug does the same shit?

Arghhhhhhhhh.

Smoke free for four days now.

CHris if you can do 4 days you can stay quit. Seriously, I'm not
(excuse this) blowing smoke up your a**, if you can go 4 days you have
a serious solid quit going.
As glad as I am that you find the medication helpful never forget who
is doing the quitting. (That would be the brave, determined YOU)
Best, Stephanie

I know absolutely nothing about all these meds, but I'm glad you're
still quit.
Stay strong, stay stubborn and stay committed. And keep taking
whatever it is.

That's excellent, Chris. I'm glad the meds help. Four days might as
well be forever. Great job.

Cheers all. I have a slight craving for it. But it's not as bad as it
would be if I wasn't taking meds. I'm determined to stay smoke free.

Well, Chris, you are on Day 5 now and I am glad to read that you are
still keeping on. I have used a few different NRTs to quit and found
some more effective than others. But I also realized that I was not
focused to really WANT to quit so it didn't happen. Keep the faith,
keep the focus on smobriety and keep the posts coming!

You're doing great!
