| | | caregiving support Mike mentioned having a support group here possibly.
I am also a caregiver and I could write a venting
post every once in awhile. I'm not sure caring for the disabled is my cup
of tea. Sometimes they are so mean to me verbally. I get no respect, no
thank you's nada.
My platonic roommate has Lupus. Last week he was depressed. I didnt
realize I could get depressed just knowing he was ...Then His meds were
way out of control and 3 days after I moved in he came into my bedroom at
4 am speaking in some eerie way, scared the crap out of me and I pretended
to not notice he was there and kept my eyes shut. One of the side effects
of prednisone is psychotic behavior. He had it! He had to leave for 2
weeks,to get his meds lowered and also he was stressing me out, then I go
to work for the elderly 8 hours a day, man I was a basket case 2 weeks
ago. Maybe i still am, yesterday one of my clients said I sounded angry,
grrrrrrrrrrrrr so I Told her she made me feel like a slave, sometimes she
blurts out 5 things at once and then says you appear to be frustrated I
look at her and say nothing and try to compose myself. She does not pay for
my services the State does.
So thanks for letting me vent. It is hard living and working for those who
cannot help themselves.
I still like being there for them when I can.

What dose of prednisone was your roommate on? Mrs A started today at
80mg ... she seems to be more stablized today (physically) ... can't say
I've noticed much change tho in her personality.
And yep it sucks some days. I just found I that I had 'crashed' two
days ago. I simply wasn't able to generate that 'positive attitude' or
outlook to carry us thru the day. Today I'm feeling better.
Sunshine, good food, warm pool, cool fresh air ... all these things help.
Today I became Mrs A's Personal Support Worker ... helped her thru a
shower and trimmed her toenails, brushed her hair ... that's where we're
at at this point. Looking forward to a quick recovery, trying to
prepare myself for a longer one.
Cheers & Hugs,
Marvie

Anita please feel free to vent anytime. You're doing selfless work.
I hope that things mellow out at home so that can be a sanctuary for
you.
Congratulations for not smoking through all of this. Stephanie |

When I think of you Marv I realize that 'in sickness and in health' is

Yea he was only on 40mg and down to 20 mg now. He is better and can
communicate with me.They say everyone is different because of age, size
etc. He is 35 years old.
So sorry you crashed, but now that you are on the up side try to stay
there. mainly for yourself. You gotta be the strong one Marv.
Many hugs back to you,
Take care

| | | Re: caregiving support Thanks Stephanie,
Today was better with my client, she actually was nice to me and didnt
offend me, so speaking out to her helped . She also told me to vent or to
express my feelings about how she treats me, you see she grew up with
parents who treated her like crap so its the only way she knows.
Then my roommate has been forgetting that he can't smoke in our apartment
and yes it wakes me up and I catch him puffing and I smell it and I say
what are you doing? Man he gets on me for drinking then he smokes.

Wow 3 years of not smoking is GREAT!!
So your career was a caregiver for how long?
I've just started 3 months ago. You deserve the best in your last 30 years
Brenny. Don't ever think you dont.
You are worth every penny and every hour your hubby gives you. Give him
many thanks and blessings.
Hugs
Anita

You must have a very good heart to be able to do all this. It takes a
special sort of person.
Vent any time you need to. We are here for so many reasons besides
the smoking issue.
