Default Cause for celebration (by not smoking)

Just today finished my double summer sessions in Epidemiology and
Biostatistics, the latter having kicked me to the curb, around the
block and then spat on me. Worst 6 weeks academically of my life; I
just don't understand the paragdigm of being unable to teach myself
something and mastering it. Whoa kiddies, here I am praying I survive
enough to pass, a C amongst all thoese Columbia A's ... but no one is
going to hire me for my math skills anyway.

In case you already didn't know how smart John is, he has a Phd in
this godforesaken, unintelligible, frustrating stuff. I picked a
clearly brilliant quit buddy.

Relationship is finally over, the effort to revive it didn't really
come to much of anything ... the blesssing is I did all my soul
searching grieving in February and March, so now I just feel some
relief and readiness to move ahead in my life.

Thank you for all of your support. Without you to write to I'd have
left the fucking biostats final and bought a pack for SURE, I just
know it.

love Stephanie
Seven months, two weeks, four days, 2 hours, 11 minutes and 43 seconds
ago I made a Decision. That Decision means I have not smoked 2300
cigarettes, saving $862.68, not to mention 1 week, 23 hours, 40
minutes of my Life.

Congratulations, Stephanie, on getting through those two hard classes
as well as coping with your break-up. Life certainly can be stressful
at times but at least you realized smoking would do NOTHING to solve
either of the issues. You hung tuff and look at you now. All that
shit is over and you still have you and your quit. Be glad and go out
and do something good for you tonight!

Yay Stephanie! What a good example you set.

Glad the finals are over (I hate math too). Sorry about the
relationship, too, but ... it sounds really trite (I used to hate
people who said this to me when I was getting divorced) but things
*do* work out for the best. Even if you don't believe that right now,
don't forget it.

Hugs!
Ashley

It was such a nice surprise to see your handle on the messages,
Stephanie; I am phantom in here, seeing but unable to post except with
this horrible google thing which can't even remember my name!!! For
those of you who don't know Stephanie, she is the brightest, funniest,
most interesting and other omitted gushings creature you'll meet, she
just hasn't been posting that much lastely, but if you have time,
google some of her thousands of posts back int he "old" days of early-
mid 2006.

Just thinking this morning that your course should be about over by
now, and I knew that wouldn't smoke no matter what. I am not worried
about your grade with those spring chickens, I am more relieved that
the MAIN thing in your life is working out well, that;s YOU and this
relationship thing, I am so proud of you for going forward, even if it
has had to have been through silence for those of us without.

One Year, Three Months, Twelve Days, 21 Hours and 6 Minutes; I have
gladly notsmoked 12217 cings, saving more than $3,113.96, and adding
42 Days and 10 Hours to my life, although it should possibly be more
since it's a non-linear function.

Your meter is looking great!!!! Congratulations on the school thing.
I'd tell ya to not sweat the C but that would probably fall on deaf
ears. My son got one C in his college career and was pretty upset.
That relationship has taken such a toll on you. I hope you really
have resolved the situation.
You've been through a stressful several months and been strong as
steel in your quit. You have so much to be proud of. I hope you'll
be able to post more often now. And, where is jad anyway? I don't
recall seeing him post very much.
Take care, rest, be strong, be stubborn and all that stuff.
Oh, and strike up the band!!!

There you are!!! I had no idea that fft@... was you. Or, if I did, I

Thank you all for the outpouring of love and support. Who would ever
delude oneself that solitary smoking could even come CLOSE to being
able to stay quit, come here and talk about it, and get all of this
kind and generous feedback? I'm celebrating by watching Godfather II
tonight, all 3 1/2 hours of it, and tomorrow I'm hitting Home Depot as
my beautiful terrace is with nary a flower and I must remedy that
immediately with some serious potting.

John I now have I believe 4 email addresses for you and 3 phone
numbers, and we STILL only cross paths via public posting. I miss
you.

All of you are the best friends a suffering soul could have, and the
BEST with whom to celebrate when there is cause. Right now I am in a
good space.

love Stephanie

PS Anyone want a discourse on what John's "it probably should be more
since it is a non-linear function," the line forms to the left. Get
the biostats quick before they disappear forever (God willing) from my
brain. All that shit dislodged a whole bunch of Partridge Family
lyrics and other important uses of higher cortical functions.
