Default Chantix and St John's Wart

Has anyone taken St. John's Wart (a herbal anti depressant) to sleep while
taking Chantix...I have used St. John's Wart for years to sleep, and was
wondering the effect it may have.

Why for years?
I would not mix two drugs like that, did you ask your pharmasist? what did
he/she say when you told them about all the herbal stuff you are taking as
well? you didn't ask? well you should of inform them before taking any new
drug so they can see what drug interactions might happen.
go ahead and call them right now and ask.
then come and let us know what they said
I will wait
go

JT, if your pharamacist has no clue about the mix, you can certainly
call the Chantix helpline directly and I expect they can advise you as
well. I have no knowledge of any sort of interaction between the two
products but I have never used St. John's Wart.

On a side note, what's your experience with SJW? Does it help with your
insomia / poor sleeping? What about for mild depression. Obviously you get
positive results or you wouldn't be taking it. Can you tell me how much you
take? And for how long?

With thanks.

Talk it through with someone who knows. An acquaintance of mine who is
on antidepressants and was told "under no circumstances mix them with
herbal remedies, like St John's Wort".

Don't trust this to internet opinion; find out from the suppliers, a
pharmacist, or your GP.

My doctor is aware of everything I take...and that is who gave me the
prescription...yes, I probably need to call them just to be sure...the
reason I asked here...is I see complaints from people about not being able
to sleep with the Chantix..I can't sleep any way...so...oh...and by the
way...for those that had constructive thoughts...thanks...for those with an
attitude...take something for that...OK...
