Hello all,

I am over 3300 posts behind, and just the quickest of glances tells me that
I missed some major milestones of some pretty special people, including (but
not limited to) the OFness of Tihomir and ThisTime! Congrats, to both of
you and congratulations to everyone from the Titanic Old Fogies who've
dropped by, to the lurker who has taken the first step of considering about
putting down the shitsticks.

It also looks like I missed a lot of heartbreak -- I'm sorry to say that I
can barely keep up. My heart goes out to every single one of us who is
hurting and I pray for healing in your heart or your body, or your loved
ones heart or body.

There is triumph here, there is pain here - this is life, this is human. At
least we're not living it in a poisonous fog of tobacco smoke, eh?

Everything is fine with me at the moment. I was sort of doing two jobs for
a few months while one of my colleagues was out on maternity leave, but
things ought to become a little less busy now (I hope). Ironically, my
anxiety attacks subsided during what should have been this much more
stressful time. Part of the credit goes to getting medicated properly; but
I also joined a meditation group and am trying to use more of my spare time
just quieting myself instead of sitting at the computer so much and feeling
like I should be "doing something." I'm trying to look at the world a
little differently, and I'm trying to spend more quality time with my pets,
with my partner, with myself, and in the outdoors. I am still smoke free
and really enjoying breathing deeply!

My Mom will be celebrating her 1 year smoberversary on Sunday. We are so
proud of her... she smoked for over 50 years. Un-freaking-believeable.

That's it, in a nutshell. I am sorry I'm going to have to mark all read.
Please fill me in if there is something I absolutely must know.

Jaime - OF - 007

Smoke free for one year, four months, four weeks, 23 hours, 46 minutes and 3
seconds. This amounts to 15449 cigarettes not smoked, saving $3,669.01, and
adding 7 weeks, 4 days, 15 hours, 25 minutes to my fabulous life.

I think I have far more posts to catch up. And I will when ever I feel like
smoking, worked last time and will work this time.

What a wonderful positive post!! Thanks for sharing. Super
congratulations to your mom. Post when you can. I know it can get
overwhelming when you're gone for awhile.
Take care.

Glad to read your post, Jaime. I do think meditation is a technique
that is sorely needed in our ratrace culture and am glad to read that
you are using it now. Wonderful to read that your Mom is about to
become an Old Fogie. Be sure to tell her that and that we all are
proud of her.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to reading you more now.

Jaime!!!! I thought of you last weekend! I was in a little cajun
restaurant and the waitress said, "Cool beans!" LOL So, of course, I
had to ask here where she heard it. She's from Boston.

Glad to see you posting again! (And still not smoking!)
