| | | First post Hi all.
I've just discovered the group and read the FAQ.
I wish I knew about you guys on the first days of my cold turkey quit.
I'm 43, I am father of two. I was smoking since I was 16. I was
smoking 30 a day.
Now I'm an ex-smoker and I feel great.
I hope I will be able to help somebody to quit.

Welcome J! It's great that you have found us! Every new quitter is a
miracle by itself and we treat it that way.
BTW I'm 36, stepfather of one, hoping (and working) on more :-)
Was smoking for 20 years, 20-40 a day.

Fantastic looking meter J! Keep it growing!
I just told a fellow quitter, the moment you quit is like you planted
a tree. It is small and fragile in the beginning, and needs a lot of
care and attention. But it will keep growing. And one day, you will
enjoy the deep cool shade it casts.
Smoking a shit stick would be cutting the tree. And maybe planting a
new one. But the new one will never catch up with the one that was cut
down.
Keep them growing, my friends.

Welcome, J!
I see from your meter that you're saving euros. (don't have the
symbol on my keyboard!) If you don't mind saying, what part of the
world do you call home? I'm right on the banks of the Mississippi
River in eastern Iowa, USA.
One of the things I like the most about AS3 is that, regardless of
where we call home, we're all just nicotine addicts. Our stories are
all so different, yet so much the same.
Welcome, again. You're gonna like this place.

So I'm a native Italian speaker, and I'm not always sure to be able to

Most likely i won't able to post as often as I'd like, because writing

Don't even give editing a thought. Type what you think/feel and we'll

J,
If we all were required to express ourselves in the language of Twain and
Faulkner, AS3 (and usenet, and just about everywhere else) would be a very
quiet place indeed. I certainly could not live up to that standard,
(although I think Jef. would still be able to post. ;-) )
So, Benvenuto a AS3! We all hope you post often.
Jaime
I have achieved six months, one week, six days, 18 hours, 33 minutes and 24
seconds, of smoke-free living (and, with it, rather aggressive driving).
This amounts to 5843 cigarettes not smoked, saving $1,387.46, and adding 2
weeks, 6 days, 6 hours, 55 minutes to my fabulous life. |

J,
If we all were required to express ourselves in the language of Twain and
Faulkner, AS3 (and usenet, and just about everywhere else) would be a very
quiet place indeed. I certainly could not live up to that standard,
(although I think Jef. would still be able to post. ;-) )
So, Benvenuto a AS3! We all hope you post often.
Jaime
I have achieved six months, one week, six days, 18 hours, 33 minutes and 24
seconds, of smoke-free living (and, with it, rather aggressive driving).

success at AS3. My quit buddy, Steve, can attest to the fact that the
first few months of my quit were deep in the throes of brainfog which
resulted in many, many, many replies to his posts with these
increcidbly heartfelt, insightful words:
"me too" or "that's it, what he said"
