Default Fog Lifting

Well, it's only fair that I post good news after spewing all of my
"woe is me" baggage yesterday. Two good things happened. First, the
fog seems to be lifting this morning. I (for the second day) took a
single Chantix yesterday afternoon and things seem to be much clearer
this morning. I guess I'll need to do some minor tweaking to continue
the medication. That is a segway into the other good thing that
happened.

Last night while I was at my weekly guitar lesson, my instructor had a
full pack of Marlboro light 100's out on his amp. My immediate junkie
reaction was "Hey, there's a cigarette!" As I was going through the
mental decision not to ask him for one, I was reminded that this was
the closest thing I've had to a crave since I quit. I will definitely
do my best to stay on the Chantix for the full duration of the
treatment. What a scary freakin' addiction!

Cheers,
Rob
Quite proud to be breathing free for one week, 9 hours, 28 minutes and
14 seconds. That's 221 cigarettes I've not smoked, saving $44.37. Life
saved...oooh, puppies!

Rob,
Sorry to be replying late. I did read your posts yesterday. First I wanna
tell ya I am very happy that the fog is lifting and things are looking
brighter. Second, be proud of yourself for resisting the temptation when
you saw that pack of shit sticks staring at you.

Keep it up, buddy, you're doing great

Well done on resisting the urge at the guitar lesson. So now you know
also to brace yourself for seeing cigarettes when you go there, and
it'll be less likely to catch you unawares next time.

Way to go, Rob.
That one is really hard.
I had that same experience with my golf buddies.
Open pack and lighter in the cart.
So hard not to ask for one.
I am very glad that neither of us yielded to that temptation.
Thank you AS3 people.

Great news Robb! Congratulations on this first week down. It is scary,
isn't it? Your description of that situation is something I still
think about now and again.
I had a smoking dream last night so I know that demon still lurks.

Man oh man..... if I pick up and light a cigarette, I might as well
walk to the nearest hospital, check myself into a room and have them
hook me up to some machines. Call my family and tell them to come
visit me there where I'm gonna wither away and die. I'm free. I'm
not putting myself back into that cold, dark, smelly, fear-filled,
guilt-filled prison.
Not today, Zurg.......

Well, Rob, cheers are well in order for many reasons! First off, you
sound a lot more together today than you have the past couple of
days. As we did tell you, it does get better! Secondly, being able
to stare down those sickerettes is always grounds to applaude
yourself! And finally, FWD. As you read here over and over, FW is
almost always the hardest and you have that under your belt!

Now, do sit back and enjoy as a bevy of The Original Yodeling Gnomes
are heading your way with Horace, the Huffing Hogg, to sing songs of
smobriety to help you celebrate this sweet milestone!

Go treat yourself to some M&Ms!

Please, Ma'am. Just step away from the M&M's and nobody will get
hurt.

Let's move along folks. There's nothing to see here.

Have you ever confronted a menopausal woman? Do you really want to? I
don't think so. Have you ever had your gonads in a vice? Do you really
want to? Stay away from those M&M's and maybe I'll leave you alone.

Now just a doggone, cotton picking, chickin' pluckin' minute, here!
There ain't no "sides" on this. Since (as you so readily admit, AZ)
you came into this thread late, I should just remind you that Mike had
originally suggested I treat myself to some M&M's (which I did, BTW--
thanks for the suggestion, Mike).

Then, this crazy woman came along and tried to take them away from
me. Little did I know that she was both crazy and menopausal (or do I
repeat myself). At that point, having lived with a menopausal woman,
I decided it was in my best interest health-wise to simply fade into
the background and eat my M&M's. And then you wade into the fray and
start stirring things up again. Why don't you go polish your BMW or
something???

So, there are no sides. They're my M&M's. Mine, mine mine.

So there.
