| | | Good News from NYC Saw this editorial in the NY Times today and think that the
information in it is very enheartening. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/08/op...ml?ref=opinion I
think that more governments need to work to keep sickerettes out of
the reach of children since, as most of us have written, we started
smoking before we were 18.

| | | Re: Good News from NYC Excellent article Mike, thanks for the post. I totally agree with getting
the nastymissles out of kids reach. Was shocked when I read this part of the
article
Experts attribute the reduction to a comprehensive approach that included
raising the combined state-city cigarette tax to $3 a pack - one of the
highest in the nation
I thought TX was bad. I am certain that rising the cost will deter many !!
It worked on me here with only a $1 raise in taxes in 2007.

motorcycle or puter parts. Extended my life expectancy at least: 5 days, 23
hours, 30 minutes. I put my last one out on Nov 11th 2007 @ 10:03 PM and
will not cheat a single smoke. |

| | | Re: Good News from NYC That;s a great start~! what will that bring up the price too Mike?
they started with the price here then went to making it illegal for minors
( under 19) to buy them, then smoking bans to now the whole province is
going to start ( or started already ) making it illegal for anyone to smoke
in a car with kids under the age of 19.
I think every little bit we can help our kids not to get hooked on this
habit is a good thing
