Here I am again, another SICK Post, Still Sober!!!

Hi All-

How are you?! I am great however yet another post on my withdrawls and
my recovery....

First off, I am almost 3 weeks sober, quit cold turkey ciggs and
coffee, I switched to tea! I am still SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've had this
lingering cough, past week its been lingering cough with a little
trouble with breathing (mostly with exhale) got much better, and more
phlegm the past few days than before it's quite obvious my body is
going thru some major major changes and I am on the road to feeling
better soon, but please tell me HOW LONG WILL I HAVE THIS COUGH?!!!!
The cough is worse at night and things are coming up which is clearly
a good sign! Thick green like phlegm it's gross!!!!!!!! My exhaling is
terrible at times also. I broke out in some pimples on my face a few
days ago, it's kinda funny but between my cough, phlegm, breathing and
pimples it must mean you go thru some hell and you wake up one day and
just LOOK and FEEL amazing (so what I hear)!

Is my body just seriously cleaning itself out, in shock and this is
its natural reaction to detoxifying itself? Afterall, imagine the most
dangerous toxic poisons in my body everyday and now ZERO, body has
gone a been in shock and trying to clear out the bad stuff, but for
how long?!!! I do have to say IM BETTER, cough improved, but its still
present and every 10 coughs I get a good chunk of phlegm come up. Why
am I such a mess?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anna,
In my opinion you need to see a doctor right away. You have symptoms
that a doctor should diagnose and treat. Yes, there is a cleansing
process when quitting, but I think you have something else going on.
I wish you well. Quitting can only help.

Anna, I do agree with Fred. I think for your own peace of mind, see
your health provider and have them take a look at your symptoms.
Certainly a lot of this is due to getting smober, but there might be
something else going on that needs attention. Overall though, getting
smober is a great place to be in and in the long run yo will find that
it does get better and better!

Are you for real? Why are you asking medical question on the web? we can't
tell you how long the cough will last or why you are really coughing,We can
guess but the last I heard noone here is a doctor. Your own doctor said you
don't have a lung infection but did he tell you why you are coughing? maybe
get to another doctor green phlegm is a sign all is NOT well.
Don't blame quitting smoking on pimples,come on girl .some things you just
need to suck up

Congrats on 3 weeks (looks like you're quit twins with bad dream lil
rob^) - get to the docs about your cough ASAP.
As far as the acne goes - this could be all the toxins breaking free -

Also be sure to look at what you are now eating. See a dermatologist if
it gets worse.

Yeah, what she (and others) said. Let me list what I agree with so
far on this thread (since I have nothing new to offer):
1. Green phlegmy cough = not good.
2. Most of what you are experiencing is probably (operative word is
probably) part of the cleansing process.
3. See a doctor - ASAP. We have lots of things to offer here on
AS3. A medical degree is not one of them. It's not a bad idea to
check in with your Dr. at three weeks in any event.
4. I'm nutral on the pimple thing. I'm not a dermatologist, nor have
I ever played one on TV :-)

On second thought, I do have something new to offer....a hug.

Some have said that it's your body healing itself. I don't know, but
there has been a really bad cough/cold/flu like something going around
that my GMF had a couple of months back. Symptoms like yours and
lasted about 3 weeks.
