| | | History of SFB2's (By Stephanie herself), April 8, 2006, in response to BE's query:
Dear Barbara-you-sure-HAVE-done-it-@-last !!!!
Together ?!?!?! Ho Ho Ho Ha Ha Ha !!! I just collapse in colorful
language and into the arms of you good friends (but thank you, hon)!
"SFB2" ... let's see, Barb - exhibit A of "Embrace Silliness" I guess!
Just about the time that I joined up here, some old old fogies were
celebrating, I don't know, 200, 300 years, respectively (and
irritatingly) between them, and mention was made that they had all
been
part of a gang that quit about the same time that went by (at the
time)
the self-appointed name of "Stubborn F*&$()king B(*&#%stards." And
I
just took to it. You know, that feel-good, spiritual, down-home,
horse-sense feel about it.
OK, switch scenarios. Also about that time jsteam and Oz were having
private council meetings about whether I could join THEIR newly formed
LTOW crew ("Less Than One Weekers"), a discussion which devolved into
much jello tossing, and name calling - I think Marv was even pulled
in to referee at some point - because they invited me not knowing I
had, at the time, 2 whole weeks (and thus, was technically
ineligible).
My position was that since they invited me they were stuck with me,
so
there. I believe I even stooped so low as to suggest that LTOWers
needed a girl for, I don't know, a mascot or Title 11 eligibility or
something.
This LTOWer sturm und drang lasted several days, until, you guessed,
it, both jsteam and Oz were in their 2nd weeks, and now were no longer
eligible from the club from which they might have SO TOTALLY UNFAIRLY
have barred me. And more importantly, by then our mottley little crew
had somewhat bonded. Not wanting to name us something time-stamped
that we would (my mouth to God's ear) outlast, it occurred to me that
we could be SFB2, and I proudly wear my membership. By the way, I
believe in my weakness I suggest co-directorship to jsteam and Oz, but
unless someone can pull that post and prove it to me I will deny it.
Thing is Barb, I am pretty tired of holding the mantle as the only
girl
in SFB2. So you want to join us? This requires willingness to make a
BIG fool of yourself and other SFB2's on celebratory occasions. I'm
thinking that all recent quitters should just pile on in and we can
have a SFB2 mosh pit. What do you think?
love Stephanie
PS jsteam might have another version of the SFB2 story but he better
not.
One month, 7 hours, 8 minutes and 36 seconds ago I made a Decision.
Honoring that Decision means an estimated 250 cigarettes I have not
smoked, saving $93.77, not to mention 20 hours, 50 minutes of my life.

| | | Re: History of SFB2's I Googled this whole thread from 4/06 but there were too many posts
for me to read through. Now, I'm not sure why Steph was the only
"girl" in the SFB2ers. Ahem. I quit the very same day as OZ IIRC
(who is now amongst the dearly departed) so I don't recall why I was
left out unless it was an age thing. I don't really fall into the
"girl" category. I did make a post stating that I'd be more apt to
belong to SFB2 if the B stood for bitch rather than bastard. As for
the LTOW, I didn't show up until I was two weeks into this business.
Quit 3/20/06, first post 4/1/06 (figures it would be April Fool's
Day).
Stephanie's post here was classic Steph. Thanks, John, for digging it
up.
