Life saved: 1 day, 19 hours, 5 minutes.

And this is if I do count it

don...well, you know what I mean.
Just don't quit quitting. Eventually you'll quit (smoking, that is)

Inky! How you decide to use your meter is your own business but you
know that as long as you are smober NOW and stay that way, that is
what matters. Just keep on keeping on and add up the days!

I prefer the 2nd Inky.
Keep that meter clean and you will respect it more.
Check this one out:

I have been freed from tobacco for 5y 3w 2d 6:46,
which means I haven't smoked 40,684 cigarettes.
That's not one puff, toke, drag, draw, hit, or large dose of
2nd hand smoke! (Note: In the event of a relapse, this meter
would be reset to zero, but that's just not going to happen!)

All the responses are correct. It's *your* meter so it's up to you
which one you use. However, as Keven said, you will have more respect
for the second meter. It's like those asterisks in record books -
your 1st meter would have an asterisk. If Barry Bonds breaks Hank
Aaron's home run record but it's found that he really has used
steroids there will always be that * next to his name.

INKY! I was going to ping you today if you weren't posted. Was
wondering how you are doing.

I was against resetting the meter but eventually gave in. Had a big
setback, which some of you on here followed, then said the hell with
it, quit patches and got the nicotine out of my system. Life's been
much better ever since.

My first meter showed 2M, so I hated to give that up. But it wasn't
real, and Sue's right: There would always be an asterisk, even just in
my own head.

That said, it's so your meter and you should do whatever the hell you
want with it. I'm just sharing is all.

Hang in there! You have already made *such* great progress. I know you
can do this.

But your reasoning was very valid too.. I did reset my meter, I just
set it back to starting time once in a while, to see what it would
look like if I hadn't.. well, you know.. Still, the time when you make
that absolute decision is what matters most. Yes, we slipped a few
times but we never gave up and that is what makes it valuable!

Flashing the asterisk to remind me not to do it again. This 1 week,
2 day thing seems to be a tough one for me. It's where I slipped last
time and I'm having real bad craves today. Like I wrote to Steve,
EVERY bloody damm reason seems valid enough to start smoking again!!!

*heads off to the bedroom, determined not to give in this time*

Inky, ENDOWed back hooker,

Quitting again since One week, two days, 14 hours, 15 minutes and 43

Well, yeah- but this one's just as impressive if not more so: you
got hit by the addiction and quit *again*! That's great IMO :-)

Sorry, I just had to save this momentum.. Look at live saved. ^_^

Quitting again since One week, two days, 14 hours, 26 minutes and 55
seconds. 288 stinkers not smoked, saving € 30,53 (that's euros =P).

It is, yeah! Not too long ago I wouldv'e left it at that and quit the
quit. But I didn't.

Yeh, I'm his number 7. SevenOfNine. Remember how I dispatched myself
of the other 7? Broke the link with all, except 9. And he don't care
how I hook, but he does care how endowed I am <BEG>

Both meters are very impressive, Inky. Personally I would remove the
word, "again", as it would remind me of any failed quits. Just my humble
opinion.

Congratulations on your quit!

Jbeth.
I quit smoking 11/18/2006.

That's exactly why I put it there. Personally I still see it as the
same quit. I didn't go back to full smoking, I hit just one. I know,
just one is all it takes but not this time. That's why I need this
reminder, there isn't "just one"

TYVM It still feels odd sometimes, not to worry about whether I
brought my stinkers and lighter along tho. <g>

Throw the lighters away, don't touch another cigarette paper or package and
we'll forgive your sins. But, can you forgive yourself? This is the biggest
thing Inky.
It doesn't matter what we say, it matters how you feel.
I know we can be fricken as3holes about what we dont' understand, so the
real thing is "do you get it?".
Don't FFF (look it up).

If I had a smoke right now, I would feel like a traitor to my country.

i think your second meter looks real good. in the end it's not the length of
time on the meter that counts it's that you don't smoke any more, not one,
not ever, finished with that shit and an't never going back. that's what
counts and that can only begin with the last cig you ever smoked. anything
less is just practice!

best wishes
