| | | How sweet it is... Smober for Eight years, 18 hours and 52 minutes. 111065 cigarettes not
smoked, saving $17,826.07. Life saved: 1 year, 2 weeks, 15 hours, 25
minutes.
Wow, I can't believe it has been 8 years! How time flies!
Just finished my evening bike ride. I ride about 1,000 miles a year,
something I couldn't do if I still smoked 2 packs a day. There are few days
in my life that I don't take some time to thank God I'm free of tobacco.
What a gift.
Funny thing is when I look back, I realize I never gave up tobacco. I didn't
give up anything. Rather I reclaimed my freedom from the addiction. Perhaps
for some of you, if you look at stopping smoking from the point of view that
you are reclaiming something precious that you once had, it will make the
journey easier.
In case some of you are wondering, I have no idea what the hell I did with
that $17,826.07.
Keep up the good fight. It's worth every bit of effort you put in to it.
Good luck to all of you!

Jeff - Yup - that is one of my mantras - you don't "give up" anything
when the smokes go - you "gain" your freedom. Thanks.

Good Lord ... 8 years. I just saw a message from someone with four
years of not breathing smoke and thought that was fantastic. Now 8 years
is unbelievable.
I've only notched up seven weeks today, not much but after fifty years
of smoking, it's an achievement I never thought I'd make. A good lot of
the credit goes to those in here, who kept me going through the first
two awful weeks.

That's it exactly. We had an artificial dependence on nicotine which didn't do much of anything except addict.
We escaped the prison it created. We gained independence.
When we smoked it looked like a loss but it was really a gain. |
