| | | I passed a test today Hi All,
This morning I had to get up at an ungodly hour to go to a workshop.
It was so cold and I reeeeeealy wanted a cigarette to wake me up
(nobody would ever know), but I didn't smoke.
I had trouble finding the site and I reeeeealy wanted a cig. since I
was so frustrated (I deserve one dammit), but I didn't smoke.
At lunch I was tired and hungry and really wanted a cig, (to keep me
going) but I didn't smoke.
Afterwards I was excited because it was a good training and may lead
to a really good job, and I wanted "just one" cigarette (one doesn't
count), but I didn't smoke.
I'm so glad I stayed straight! With junkie thinking, there will always
be an excuse to smoke, but the real lie is that I *have* to smoke. I
don't have to, I just really want to sometimes.
Shhhhh....I am going to take a nap now.

I get those urges once in awhile too Grace. You are doing great! I
just don't have cigarettes around so it's pretty easy to get thru
them. Luckily, I don't have any smoking friends at this point so no
temptation to bum a cig.
Keep it up!!

between two people one who smoked and one didn't who would you choose, me?
the non smoker of course. no smoking breaks every hour, no stinking up the
workplace, less sick time for non smokers!
good for you Grace

Certainly the stinkin' thinkin' will be there for some time since you
[and the rest of us] smoke for God knows how long and it does take
time to reprogram your brain. But each time you shout NOOOO to the
urge the less power it has. Just keep on keeping on as it does get
better and better the longer you are smober!

Of course you do. So do I. Most quitters do at some time or other.
The important thing is that you didn't!!! That makes you a winner.

You are all so nice to me and I appreciate it so much. It has really
kept me going. Sometimes in life when you reach out for help, nobody
reaches back, but this group just pours out love and encouragement to
everyone that wanders in. You are all amazing and (wipes tear)
awww...I love you guys....
