saw some damn fine "alternative" tap-dancing in NYC in the 1990s.
I am lame in one foot and can't dance much at all, much less tap dance. But
hell, I'm just glad I can walk. Plenty of people reading this can't!
But tap-dancing really *does* look like a blast, doesn't it? :-D

Yes, it does! I don't do any sort of dancing except by myself in my
living room. I have no talent for it whatsoever. I think that's one
of my appealing qualities to my GMF - he doesn't dance either.

That'll teach me to read from the bottom up (most recent to least
recent). I've now found the answer to my question.

LOL. When I was little I'd put on my Mary James and "tap" dance on
the tiles in front of the fire place. Not quite the right noise, but
the best I could do. When I was in high school there was this set of
twins who always tapped to "Lollypop" at every talent show.
My oldest two girls took tap lessons for awhile. They had one
recital. One of the funniest things I've ever seen. This whole line
of little girls in pink costumes with these bonnet things on, bright
pink make up on their cheeks, dancing to Ain't She Sweet.

| | | Re: And, I wish I could tap dance Oh Sue! Send me into a Busby Berkley sugar rush! I did take tap as a
youngster and still get excited when I see it on stage, especially or
in film. Nothing beat the opening of the stage version of '42nd
Street' with the full chorus tapping their feet off as the curtain
raises!
