| | | Iam so grateful for your answers full of good advise and ecouragement which, along with
reading other people posts, has had
a great effect on my quitting beheaviour during last night and this morning.
I had my last cig. yesterday around 4.00 pm, dreaded the evening when I
usually smoke more but I didn't touch a single one.
Dreaded this morning. I must tell you that on all my attempts of giving up
smoking the most difficult cig. to say no to has been the one after my
espresso coffee. I had a cup of tea instead, did not miss the espresso, had
few reminders by my brain that at this point I should have had few cigs,
just one to start the day, but I said NO!
I know that Champix is behind this but not entirely. I seem to be able to
reason with myself as I've never done it before,
here is when all your sound advise comes in, few words from one and few from
some others, it is really sinking in:
NO MORE smoking!
Wish me luck for today.
My best wishes to all.

Not luck, but wishing you Great Determination!
Keep that attitude that *you* are doing this, and take lots of pride.
It's only one crave at a time -- and each one ends. Distract yourself,
deep breath (SLOOOWLY IN THRU THE NOSE USING YOUR STOMACH, HOLD FOR A
SEC, THEN SLOOOOWLY OUT THRU THE MOUTH LIKE A SILENT WHISTLE) ... sorry
for the caps but it works. Bottled water too! Verrrry Important!
You CAN do this E! You ARE doing it!
Keep posting too whenever you need to -- this place is open 24-7.
Cheers and High-Fives!

I'll be happy to wish you luck, E. Heck, anything that helps, I
always say. Luck certainly won't do it all (in fact, I'm not even
sure I believe in luck), but if it exists, it can't hurt. I quit on
what's been called the luckiest day of the century, 07/07/07 and it's
been my easiest first four days ever!
You *certainly* have my best wishes. I believe firmly in them!
Cheers,

| | | Re: Iam so grateful Sorry guys but at this moment my literary skill is not at its best, nausea
and sleepiness don't help, you are right, luck has not much to do with
quit. However, I am glad to have used that word as in reacting to it you
have given me some positive and sound advise,
reminded me of the word DETERMINATION, suggested an useful breathing
exercise, sent some felt wishes etc.
You are great!
Best,
E
Only 27 minutes to reach my first non smoking day (and night)!

| | | Re: Iam so grateful Elenora! Just Hang Tuff! A lot of this is your body's reaction to
the final withdrawl of nicotine. While you were starting with Chantix
you were still smoking even if not enjoying it and probably lessening
as you got closer to yesterday. My first responses were to want to nap
a lot, so quitting does affect each of us differently. But, like
'sands in an hoursglass, these are the days of our lives' and you can
make it through this stretch.

People are too literal today. GOOD LUCK is just a way of saying we
wish you well. I for one don't wish you anything but well. So, good
luck.
If you think the Chantix has something to do with the nausea, try
eating full sized meals in the morning and evening when you take the
Chantix. The only nausea I had was after eating a small breakfast. I
now eat large meals and I don't get nausea anymore.
Congrats on your FFD!

| | | Re: Iam so grateful Yay for you Eleonora!
You can do this. Hang in there. Every minute, every hour, every day
behind you it gets easier. And I've found the sense of pride you have
in yourself for quitting is its own reward.
Keep us posted! As Marv said, we're open 24-7. The best part is we're
all over the world so if you post something with an emergency crave
there's usually someone up to respond quickly!
Hugs!
