ROADIE!

Yesterday was the first time I've been in a bar since the quit... I
thought .nl went smokefree in bars as of the first? Anyhoo, I went
as the SO and his brother had a gig. It was like- totally kewl: SO
on dobro and guitar and singing and his brother on double bass
playing Delta blues together with one tune featuring the singing
saw. It went great, and I survived the smoking too! :-)

It was annoying that the owner of this place chainsmoked and kept
wandering up to say "hi, isn't this great?" but after we removed
the ashtray from our table he seemed to get the hint.<eg>

What with all the gear guitar players seem to feel the insane need
to lug around I ended up hauling the three guitars, the setlists
and two harmonicas... not too difficult but now I feel conventional
doorways are just too narrow. I draw the line at lugging amps mind,
especially that overweight tube amp he's using now!

Fun, fun, fun... and I ate *2* croissants for breakfast today,
slept in so lunch isn't likely to be an issue unless I call dinner
lunch (it wouldn't be a first) and stay up really late. ;-)

Yup... I know myself, and was really worried I'd go all auto-pilot
and accept a cigarette when offered. So when I went in, since it
wasn't busy and they'd rebuilt the place a bit I shouted: "Okay,
where's the non-smoking table? I quit smoking and you *move it???"
just to make sure everyone knew I was off that noxious weed.

Still didn't walk around and sit chatting with smokers... that'll
be my next big challenge.

Vashti! Ya did good! I know for many of us, going to places where
there is smoking is really hard to handle at first. I've never
particularly had an issue with that per se, but I do find them
annoying. Still, the good news is you did good and deserve a cyberhug

Thanks Mike... it was a wee struggle but focus on the music and
it's all worth it. Thing that got me was that I was expecting non-
smoking for some reason? Weirdness.
