Default Just an excuse

to post.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
9M 6D 14h 11m 58s (280 days) quit.
7,856 cigarettes unsmoked. $1,051.19 better spent.
3W 6D 6h 40m life better lived.
My Quit Date: 8/6/2007 12:45 AM
-----------------------------------------------------------------
If I still know any math......
280 days is 40 weeks.
For me, that should be 40 cartons.
That should be 8,000 cigs.
Hmmmmm.
Oh I see.
I put 28/day in the meter.
It's really 28.571428571428571428571428571429.
That adds up over time..
I'm rounding up to 29.
I can guaratee you I exceeded a carton more often than not.
I just told myself (and my loved ones) a carton.
So there.....
40 weeks, 40 cartons, 8,000 cigs and they can all go to hell.
I'm free of that slavery and absolutely every part of my body aches.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
9M 6D 14h 18m 20s (280 days) quit.
8,137 cigarettes unsmoked. $1,088.75 better spent.

I don't know about your math, but your meter looks great!!
I believe that a month has an average of 4.33 weeks.

30 cigs a day.
Over the course of my career, that is prolly more accurate.

Superb, David!!!
Which ever way you cut it, that's one heck of a lot of smokes! I've
always thought it would be interesting to see the cigarettes all lined
up, stacked up over time, to get a visual impact of just how much a
person would have really smoked! Aren't you just amazed that you
haven't smoked FORTY cartons of cigarettes?!?!? Excellent job
David!!! I bet your family must be very happy, too!

When I was a kid, my dad had a pharmacy and we sold cigs.
I would stock them daily.
The cartons came in boxes (cases),.
Who remembers how many cartons in a case.
I want to visualize them that way.

David! My parents owned a tavern and grocery and we did get the
sickerettes in a box with the cartons in them. I think I remember a
box containing 40 cartons in them but I could be wrong. Still, if we
got a full box of the sickerettes it was a hell of a lot of
sickerettes which we kept locked up until we put them out for sale.

As to revising one'smeter to reflect you prior smoking habits, it's
totally up to you. I used a pack a day in my own meter as I know that
the last four years I lived and smoked here I could count on a pack a
day as I bought them by the pack. Still there were days I smoked more
and others I somehow smoked less. It's just a number to give you some
perspective of what we are overcoming, IMHO.

9151 cigarettes not smoked, saving $2,745.10. Life saved: 4 weeks, 3

I did not post it, David. Truthfully I didn't see it on my meter
until the day after and while I totally enjoyed posting weeks and then
months, it just does not have the same feeling for 13-14-15 months to
me. Of course, like anyone, I am free to change my mind and post for
16 months... <G>
