Default Just a li'l bit of gratitude...

Well... maybe a whole lotta gratitude.

I quit ten years ago for two plus years and I swear that the reason I
started smoking again was because I felt I didn't have to come here to
AS3 anymore. Had a wonderful relationship with a very attractive SO and
a busy, active life. Well, she moved on and in a moment of weakness I
had *just one*. I had forgotten that those who don't read and post ain't
around to find out what happens to those who don't read and post.

More than seven years of *just one* later, I carried my sorry ass back
here and you folks were just as welcoming and encouraging as before. I
thank each and every one of you for that and I love this group because
of it. Lately, I've found myself making excuses to not read and post.
What an asshole!!! This time I caught myself. From now on. I give
everyone here permission to kick my ass if I ever go more than a few
days without posting.

I hope that I never feel like I've "graduated" from AS3 again. The next
time I may not make it back.

I have not smoked in 2M 4h 45m. That's 62 days! I have not used any
nicotine at all since 9/03/2007.

Yeah I think there was a discussion earlier about whether or not
hanging out in here was maybe making it harder to quit.
That maybe it'd be easier if we didn't think about quitting so much.
Well knowing me, I'm with Phil.
I'm gonna have to make sure I'm reminded regularly how dangerous this
shit is.

Phil, sounds like you and me are lifers. We need to keep coming here. When
we disappear, it's cause (at least for me) I don't want to be here
admitting I fired up a smoke again.

Gratitude is a miniscule portion of how I feel for this outlet. If not for
AS3, I'd be smoking. Simple as that.

Drum roll - Five days, 2 hours, 56 minutes and 0 seconds since I snubbed
out the last stinky cigareet. I'm smelling better. I'm feelling better.
It's a wonderful thing, this not smoking. No good can come from smoking and
so I don't. How about this - 76 cigarettes not smoked and $11.53 not wasted
on cancer stick, and life saved = 6 hours, 20 minutes.

Phil! Your story parallels my so much I could nearly have written
it. I totally agree you all are stuck with me for life. <G> I did
exactly the same after 'graduating' from AS3 in about 2000. Sucked up
a sickerette in 01 and continued until February. Ain't gonna happen
again. Simple as that!

Now, sit back and relax, I see from your meter that you are due
for......

keep going

I have been around this news group for over 10 years now. I quit and then
start back up, but I have a lot of friends on this news group.

Phil, we don't ever want you and Donna to leave us.
There is no graduation from AS3!

Ashley
