Default Looks Like Im the Only One Left

Out of the 3 servers at my job who quit,Im the only one still quit. One went
back to smoking openly some time ago after a period of time of sneaking in
the bathroom to smoke. After she got outed ,she gave up the pretense. The
other, who quit in April has occasionally taken a puff here and a puff there.
Today, from the way she was talking, she will shortly be back to smoking full
time. This was the lady who had surgery for the blockage in her neck. She is
back in total denial that smoking caused it. The nicodemon has his claws
firmly in her once again. Sad.
But I am fucking hellbent and determined to ride out the desire to smoke and
come thru on the other side still smokefree. I dont ever want to go thru it
again!!! I find that doing stuff like reading and watching tv in bed help me
keep my mind off smoking.

I am so proud of you and your resolve, Becky! You are doing great
with this quit! My mum has macular degeneration and is losing her
sight, all due to smoking, but still won't quit. It's hard watching
someone delude themselves, isn't it. I agree that reading is a great
pasttime and I blew a whole bunch of cash on books while we were in
the states. They are way cheaper there. So I am off to bed to read
my new book.

Hugs and kisses

Sad! Exactly! And you do not want to be part of that sad piscture!
See, very soon after I quit i started feeling pitty for the people i
saw smoking. I would say to myself: wow look, yet another slave. I
sure am happy to be free!

Can you take a week off Becky? If you can, go home, quit the lozenges,
and sleep and bitch and cry and rant the week off. But only if you
feel like it. AYNTHING is better than smoking.

That you are still smober when the others at your job have gone back
to sickerettes just re-inforces that you are DETERMINED and SUCCESSFUL
in your quit. Becky, you are doing very well with this quit and I'm

Thanks,Cat! and thanks everyone who posted!! Yeah if there is one ting I
know and know well it is that I cant convince someone to quit an addiction
or to stay quit. My husband quit smoking 3 years ago,and to his credit, not
once did he try and nag me into quitting. It would not have worked. these
folks will quit on their own time in their own way.I can and will stay
focused on my own quit.

Oh, it's a he.
Men are responsible for most of what's wrong with the world.
Not that I don't like them. I'm just saying.

Keep the quit Becky. You may encourage them to quit later on down the road.
Whether they do or not, you are only responsible for you.
