| | | Mrs Android Is In The Hospital ... Again We went to the hospital today.
Her feet and legs have been swelling badly since Monday.
They admitted her right away.
Blood work indicates her INR (blood thinness) is now in the border range
of clotting. Her thyroid is now under-active. Indicators for
inflammation have tripled since last time.
Changing up her meds, adding new ones. Another medical nightmare
clusterfuck.
I'm so tired. I'm just fucking spent. This past week has been brutal
for sleep and jacked up stress levels. I've worked since last Sunday.
The owner is finally back from his cottage. I'm hoping he'll fill in
for me tomorrow night -- Friday night is a heavy night but ... I feel
I'm worth it.
Kind thoughts, healing vibes, prayers and anything and everything else
appreciated.
Gratefully

Oh, no, I am so sorry to hear that. I hope that they can get her
straightened out this time and that she will soon be on the mend.
We are all here for you Marvin when you need to vent or yell or cry-
whatever helps. Please try to rest when you can.

They stopped the nerve pain meds and switched to another which caused a
painful transitional period. No blood clots in her legs. She's on
diuretics for the leg swelling.
She's resting now.
With the hospital bed she is able to get in and out on her own and
doesn't have to rely on anyone for bathroom trips. She's got a nice
flat panel TV, and a bunch of Nintendo DS games for entertainment.
My eldest daughter and I just got back from visiting. We stopped by the
bakery and 'bought' a nice tuna sandwhich on fresh brown bread for her.
The owner was there too -- he's taking tonight for me so I have the
evening off.
The eldest and I are just about to go out for dinner then back home for
a swim etc ... I'll be taking tonight for myself. I'm whipped -- I
haven't gotten much sleep this week plus the stress of not knowing why
Mrs A's condition was worsening was overwhelming. It's time to de-stress.
Tomorrow I'll be going grocery shopping and I'll stock up on some extra
fruit and snacks for Mrs A. I'll likely slow cook some ribs and then
BBQ them with some chicken and run it over to the hospital for Mrs A to
enjoy with her dinner (although she said the food actually wasn't too
bad for a hospital).
Cheers & Hugs,
Marvin

Aww, hell, Marvin... I'm so sorry she's (and all the rest of you Martians
are) having such a roller coaster of a time.
If this were a movie, I'd fire the fucking writer and get someone with a
better-developed sense of humor to overhaul the script.
The last several years of her life, my mother was hit with various illnesses
and medical traumas of greater or lesser degree. It was one step forward,
two steps back; then there'd be a little breather, and next, some *fresh*
disaster would come along. It was surreal. How could anyone have this many
ups and downs...? It kept everyone off balance and exhausted and squeezed
out all the time. There seemed to be no time to just sit down and regroup...
I've got some inkling of what you're experiencing, I'm sorry to say, and I
know full well how enervating it can be. Keep your chin up, and try to give
her a little something every day-- a joke or a story or some silly thing you
see on the newsgroup-- that will make her laugh a little. It's good therapy
for both of you. You've got many, many friends here who wish you strength. |

Hope things resolve quickly both on the work front and the health front. All
my best hopes and wishes to you. Amazing after one quits smoking the things
they can go through without lighting up. Best of luck and hope they can find
the right answer for Mrs. Android.

I've been thinking ofyou and praying for you.
I've spent the last 3 days in a hospital tending a friend who had
triple bypass surgery on Tuesday.
I do hope that by this time (that I belatedly got toyour thread)
thatshe is better.

Sorry to hear about the Mrs., Marvin... Is the swelling in her legs due
to cellulitis? My sister is diabetic, and she's gotten cellulitis,
which I think is an infection of the skin (strep?), and it swells up and
looks like she might have edema from clots, but it's not. Took them a
LONG time to diagnose it.
Hope they get it straightened out (if they haven't already..I haven't
read down that far yet...)
