Opera did the browser for the Nintendo ... I've used Opera for a few
years now and love it.

I didn't *really* need the browser functionality, but I do like it. I
did some download speed tests at http://toast.net and it was running ta
around 150 to 200 kbps which isn't bad!

I use Opera too, I prefer it over Firefox. What I found funny is that
there are all 3 major browsers listed as the user agent :-)

It might be a compatibility note, sort of, but why did they find it to
be so important to cram all that info into the useragent field...

How does that work Marvin? My 11yo wants to buy the web browser, do you
need to buy something else too? We don't have wifi here at the house.

Yep you need wireless access (there is a USB wireless thing tho -- not
sure if this plugs into a PC and then acts as an wireless access point).

I use a wireless router for access.

wireless access point.

Should also mention that you can't watch YouTube.com vids, it doesn't
support media plugins, so no music, etc.

For surfing news, email (web-based), Google Groups, maps, etc -- it's
good. But it's not for the heavy multi-media sites -- the bandwidth and
it's memory is limited. I think it's designed more for big kids like
myself :-D

Kathleen, we have hooked up the wifi to the LAN, so that the wifi can give
the signal to the Nintendo DS Lite

other than that, we have to drive the kidlet to a 'hotspot' for Nintendo
wifi, that is listed on the nintendo web page somewhere
