Default Nice deep breath...

Today is my fifth day of not smoking disgusting cigs and the Chantix
has been really good. I seriously had doubt that I could quit and I
was afraid because I had failed before. I remember the last time I
quit it was really emotional and the craving serious. Now, I have the
craving at certain times, maybe 4 times a day, and I really want a
smoke but the crave passes. Some of you say the first week is "hell
week" and I am thinking that maybe things will keep getting easier. I
hope so. SO nice to take a deep breath and it not hurt!! Thanks for
being here.

Theresa
Four days, 16 hours, 51 minutes and 32 seconds. 94 cigarettes not
smoked, saving $16.46. Life saved: 7 hours, 50 minutes.

The really cool thing is each time you get past that crave you have
more experience telling you it's possible
Hoping you can, becomes knowing you can.
Four days was big for me because that's the longest I had been before.
Keep taking the meds, keep not picking up a cigarette, and keep
posting here.

It does get better every day and it is not a promise nor a hope, it's
a cold fact. There is the occasional bump and the odd bad day, but the
curve is inevitably going down.
Everyone's quit is different, but after the first week the cravings
got rare, and after the third week it was so rare I had to stop and
ask myself "Wow what was that, it felt funny but it only lasted for a
second. I'll probably never find out. Sigh"

Theresa! You are doing great and sounding very on-track with your
quit so far. Yeah, you will get a crave/urge from time to time but
the Chantix really wipes out the wall-climbing that other quits can
entertain so that you realize that they are really more a reflex of
when you used to smoke and you can easily dismiss them. As to deep
breathes....totally totally use them any time you feel the beginning
of a crave as that will relax your body and that usually over comes
it.

No the nun used her bare soft pink hands. My mother used a wooden spoon
once and broke it in two, What is it with you girls and kitchen
implements is it just cos they are to hand. My Gran preferred the wet
dish rag....ouch that really did raise a welt. You'd all get locked up
nowadays... progress I suppose. Never did me any harm.
