Hi Folks: I posted this and it seems to have been deleted from the server,
so I'll repost it:
Hi Folks: I almost for got to post my anny this year - I never think
ofsmoking at all anymore, really. I also recently unpacked a box of papers
from my move, and found my original sheet of Reasons I Am Quitting that I
had posted to my den wall. I keep it as a strong and heartfelt memento and
reminder.
I quit on December 4th in 1998 - and gave myself a Christmas present. I was
a 2 pack-a-day smoker from 1957 in high school until 1998 when I finally
quit successfully. It was my second try at quitting. And let me tell you - I
was strongly addicted at every level.
I post here every year to let you know that quitting can be done if you want
to do it - bad enough. Yes, it is truly short term pain for long term gain,
and it is often brutally difficult - but not impossibly difficult. I did
it - I QUIT - and so can ou if you really want to.
I used the Nicoderm CQ patches, and even used the last of them, the weakest
strength (7mg) for an additional two weeks. It worked for me.
I wish you all strength for the journey. Please - use all the tools you see
posted here and elsewhere, and don't forget to ask for God's good grace, for
without Him we can do nothing.
Here is the meter. I just had to go and DL it from the net and fill it all
in so I could post it for - us.
