Default OT: Domestic Bliss hits again...this time, Ironing!

O.K....

last post of the evening...we are now into the wee hours of the
morning...and I'm just winding down and am getting about ready for
bed...

....my last little chore that I have fallen in love with
is.....yep...ironing.

....you might think that I've lost my mind with all this domestic bliss
that I seem to be experiencing!!!

....I've recently rediscovered the love of ironing. For many years, I
never ironed a thing. But, then...the day happened that, I had some
clothing which absolutely required ironing. I could not avoid it. I
didn't even OWN an iron. I very reluctantly went out and bought and
iron and ironing board out of pure necessity. It had been so many
years since I had ironed, that in my first attempt, I actually ironed
in more wrinkles than I ironed out!!! The pants and shirt actually
came out in worse shape than when I started.

....when I was a young girl, I ironed with my mom (who I should
mention, hasn't ironed in YEARS!)...and I was good at it and was
taught how to do it "just so"...I am grateful to say that those skills
returned...

....I had to practice a bit to get back into the swing of it...but,
then...voila! it all started coming back...and...

....it just OVERTOOK me!!!... I had forgotten how wonderful ironing
clothes smells! The tactile pleasures of stretching and smoothing out
fabric and cloth...the satisfaction of watching wrinkles transform
into smooth fabric...

Meet the IRON:

....I have become somewhat obsessed with it...I am so nuts for it...I'm
even ironing my sheets and pillowcases.

....I swear...I'm losing it! hahaha!

I highly recommend sleeping on freshly ironed sheets/
pillowcases...what a nice treat! Especially, if they have been hung
out on the line!!!

I think I'm noticing a pattern with these little joys of mine...

They all smell good!

Ironing clothes...smells good!

Clothes on the line...smells good!

Freshly clipped grass...smells good!

I can enjoy good smells now that I don't smoke!!!

All of these things keep one's hands busy.

Being busy helps me stay smoke-free!!!

OK...some folks might say I have too much time on my hands, but,
that's not really true...I have to squeeze these little pleasures in
when I get the time. But, I think they are well worth it.

I swear...I'm not losing my mind!

PKK, when you start talking about doing the wash by hand on a wash
board and cooking your meals in a pot hung in the fireplace, it'll be
time send for some help. LOL

So glad you're enjoying so many things that sound so goovy. Ironing
in particular can be very relaxing and theraputic. A great time to
let one's mind drift.

Thanks for the neat posts.

I'm watching my fourth kid discover the world.
She's two and a half.
Every day is a new adventure.
Every activity is fresh and new.
You remind me of her.
You are being reborn.
Your outlook on life is brand new.
Plus......
Who the hell says our daily chores can't be enjoyable.?
Just because society is so obsessed with finding ways to speed them up
or eliminate them?
