Default OT: hot chocolate

Life Is Like Hot Chocolate

A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were talking at a
reunion and decided to go visit their old university professor, now retired.
During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in
their work and lives. Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went
into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an
assortment of cups - porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some
expensive, some exquisite telling them to help themselves to the hot
chocolate.

When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor said:
"Notice that all the nice looking expensive cups were taken, leaving behind
the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best
for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. The cup that
you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In
most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we
drink. What all of you really wanted was the hot chocolate, not the cup; but
you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each
other's cups.

Now consider this: Life is the hot chocolate; your job, money and position
in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life. The
cup you have does not define, nor change the quality of life you have.
Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot
chocolate God has provided us.
God makes the hot chocolate, man chooses the cups. The happiest people don't
have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything that they
have.

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. And, enjoy your hot
chocolate

The story is exellent up to this point. Why inject an unprovable (God)
statement?
Are you hawking religion?

I'm pretty sure that Kathleen didn't write this herself, but why not
just let her post what she wants to post? I don't think she's
"hawking" anything. She has her personal beliefs that are important
to her and, I believe, have helped her through some very difficult
times. What difference does it make to you? If you don't like it,
ignore it.

Whatever she's "hawking", I'll have some.
Marshmallows too, please.

I'm with David.
I love hot chocolate. You can even put it in a Dixie cup.
But then I'd need a cup holder because the cup would be to hot.
But I digress.

What difference does it make to you what I think? If you don't like it,
ignore it.
If someone says they (believe) something, that's fine, but to state a fact
is another thing.
You seem to be (quick) to disagree.

What you think means nothing to me. What you post does.

I've ignored you on other newsgroups.

I've seen what you believe as fact. I wouldn't be so quick to judge
others were I you.

Disagree with what? Your opinion that she's "hawking" her religion?
Yes, I disagree.
Sheesh.
Gimme some of that hot chocolate. I don't care how it got into the
cup or who put it there. <slurp>

lol
My life is about God, to share my life with others without God being a part
of it is impossible.

I detest religion though - to me the word implies legalism - and I don't
"hawk" anything.
I didn't write it either, just passed it along because I know my friends
here will love it.
With hope and heart,
Kathleen
